Thought I would share a product that I tried and liked. Needless to say I have not been able to drink protein drinks so I tried a triple chocolate protein bar from smart health store and it's pretty good (I thought it might be to sweet but it's not). 14g protein, 4g sugar 185 cal. Not to shabby. Now share with me some of the things you have tried and liked or disliked???? I am definatly wanting to try some new things, as my taste have changed so much. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Hugs, Sharon

Hi Sharon, Well, I am not crazy about sweet things since my surgery- so I have not been happy with alot of protein drinks. But I have tried two that I would love to share with you. One is from www.vitalady.com and its a "grape protein mix". It taste just like grape kool-aid mixed with water. The second one is pro-performance unflavored protein powder from GNC. It still has a little taste- but its bearable and its not sweet. Hope this helps Brigitte

I never could find a protein drink I liked. Before surgery I liked Atkins RTD, but now even it taste bad to me. I like to mix Hood carb countdown chocolate with 2% regular milk. My doctor has turned me loose on regular food and I can now get all the protein in from meat, cheese, and beans as well as the carb countdown. Today, I tried a new product and it is Bryers Smart Ice Cream, per 1/2 cup = 90 calories, 4.5 fat, 4 fiber, 5 sugar, 2 protein. It was really good. Loretta 386/350

I realllllllly love Power Crunch bars in Vanilla. You can them at www.smarthealthstore.com or at The Vitamin Shoppe. I've tried the Peanute Butter and Cookies and Cream too, but the Vanilla is MUCH better. I like jello fat free/sf pudding mixed with unflavored protein powder. I like Soy Crisps in BBQ. I like string cheese and cheese cubes. I really love salmon and shrimp since surgery. I also eat oatmeal and couscous regularly. Cara

I would really recommend buying samples before shelling out for 3 or 5 pounds of something. I've really had a hard time finding something I can handle. I liked the protein bars before surgery, but since then ... I can stomach Luna Lemon Zest and Snickers Marathon, but they are high in carbs. I just found a recipe yesterday, tried it this morning, and I got it all down. It was pretty tasty. Matrix 5.0 Purely Chocolate (half a serving - it was a sample) 2 inches of a banana 1/2 Cup Hood's Carb Countdown Chocolate Milk 1/2 Cup ice cubes I threw all of this into a big plastic glass and swirled it with my Braun handheld mixer. I managed to slurp it all down within half an hour. The ice chips made it like a slushy. I don't see m'self doubling the recipe for the full serving anytime soon, but I can do this a few times a day if I want. Keep trying until you find something you like.

I have found that I really like the Isopure low carb Dutch Chocolate protein drink powder from GNC. I make a drink of 12 oz. water with 2 scoops and mix it up. I put in 3 or 4 icecubes and drink it for breakfast. It is YUMMMMMY and has 50.... yes, I said FIFTY grams of protein in that one drink! It cost about $38 on sale ($50 reg price) but it covers 21 days of breakfast for me. I'd say that is a pretty good deal for that much protein. The best thing about it is that it is made with water. I hate milk and this is the first drink I've found that is delicious and made with water. Hope this helps some of you. Marion 407/381

Hi Sharon, I love the worldwide protein shakes. They are pre made, have 35 gr. protein, and taste good. I have had the banana cream, vanilla cream & chocolate. They sell them here at trader joes, and even at some 7-11's. They cost a bit more then powder, but are worth it. Oh, FYI, GNC will give a refund on any protein powder if you buy it and then do not like it. Good luck, Jenny
