Just a Heads Up to My Fellow Febbies

Hi All- Its been a little bit more than a month, and Ive lost exactly 20 lbs. Ever since surgery, I was not taking things in well. I thought it was just a result of the surgery and the strain on my body. I started pureed foods two weeks ago. I never felt right after eating. I could get liquids down, as well as soft food...only to have the food feel like lead in my stomach 3 hours after I ate it. Regurgitating was the only thing that gave me relief. Needless to say, I felt like crud, and wasnt able to focus on exercise! I was always told that strictures happen "later" and not as early. I was also told that if you can even swallow liquid or food without pain, it probably wasnt a stricture. Guess what? What I read was wrong! I had an endoscopy today and I was diagnosed with a "stricture at the gastrojejunal anastomosis". I was dilated 8mm, and it seems to have made all the difference. PLEASE: If you have any of these issues, dont hesistate-get them checked out ASAP! I couldve saved some precious time of my first month post op out of misery! God Bless, Aly

Dear Aly, Sorry to hear you had problems, but thanks for giving us a heads up. I thought I was informed, but what is stricture? I saw it on someone elses post, but I don't know what it is. Thanks, Mary M.
