depression anyone?
Hi all--
Had RNY on 2/25. Doing fine physically, but feeling very "blue". Still have a drain in & I blame a lot on that. It sort of scares me & I feel like I can't do much physically as long as this tube is sticking out of me. I have a dr's appt for the 15th, so hopefully I will get the drain out then. I have "projects" that I could be doing around the house, but just have no motivation to do anything except poke around on the computer or watch TV. Just wondering if anyone else is going through or went through this.
im right there with ya. except i dont have a drain :/ but as the time goes on im noticing that everyday i get a lil more energy and feel a lil bit better. i still have my occasional blue day where i do nothing but cry and feel like sleeping, and during that day i ussually push my self to do my physical therapy till about 5 or 6...then im done for the day :/ but it does seem to get better...honestly :D just keep on going and it does get better. Im sure once you get your drain out it will make you feel alot better :D
You are totally feeling normal here. I went through the same thing a few weeks ago (about week 3, looks to be about the same as you). This is a normal part of the process, as your body is adjusting to the estrogen spike in your hormone levels (which is stored in fat) due to the rapid weight loss. At least for me it lasted about a week or 2.

I had my surgery on Feb 21st and today is the last day of the fourth week. However, I went through the same depressed feelings during my third week...hang in there...it gets better. My surgeon gave me info about this being a totally normal thing during this time period...anywhere from the 3-6 weeks post op. It has alot to do with the weight change, eating change, not being able to eat the things we used to eat, etc. I am sure once you get the drain taken out it will help even more!!
Good luck and Hopefully your drain came out on the 15th!!
