11 day post op
The good Lord has been looking over me this past couple of weeks for sure! I just got back from my first post op appointment with my doctor!
I have officially lost 22 pounds! My staples are gone and my drain is half way out and will be out completely tomorrow when I pull it!
I am still on a clear liquid diet and will begin a pureed diet next Monday (the same day I will be returning to work).
I have so much energy and continue to take my chewable Centrum and Tums daily without any n/v. I am now up to about 45 minutes of brisk mall walking each day! This should be interesting trying to fit in the exercise with a full-time job, three busy children and a husband who travels alot!
I hope everything is going as well for all you other Februarians! Thanks for listening!
Diana
Way to go, Diana!
You sound like you are doing awesome! I had surgery on 2/21 and I feel wonderful, too! I never would have thought I would feel so energetic and just plain good this early out! I also work full-time and have 3 kids and will be returning to work on March 22nd, so I know what you mean about fitting in the exercise and everything else! Hope you keep on posting, I love to read all the posts, especially from the Februarians (I like that term!)

Hi Diana!
I'm also down 22lbs in 11 days, but I don't see the Do****il Friday. Wow, your drain stayed in a long time. I didn't think Tums were good for us. We can't absorb that type of calcium because it takes stomach acid to break it down. Try posting to the main board about it and see what they say. I joined a yahoo group for gastric bypass/vitimans. They have been helpful!
I have not started calcium yet (just my chewable vits) because I had a problem with too much calcium pre op and we are going to wait and see how my labs are at 3 months.
What kinds of foods are you eating? I'm getting seriously bored with the full liquids, but have come up with a few creative things.
When do you go back to work? I'm a student (finishing up my RN) and was able to take this semester off. i'll do a summer class if possible though. My kids are teenagers so that helps a lot, but DH works out of town during the week and is just home weekends.
Happy to see you are doing so well!
Hugs

Diana, congratulations on your progress. I had surgery on 2/21 and I agree I feel wonderful. I would never have expected that this early in the game.
It amazes me how little I eat, I have to remind myself sometimes that it is time, I'm just not very hungry.
Doesn't the walking make you feel great, I love it. I also have a full time job and two very active little boys so I have to really work hard to find time to walk. I can walk about 3 miles without even getting winded, before WLS I couldn't walk a mile without serious breathing.
I have just realized there is a February surgery message board, you guys will see me around, I usually post on the main or the Texas but it is great to see what others with February surgery dates are doing.
Take care,
Dana
Hey Everybody!
WLS-02/28/05
I am currently 10 days out. I weighted in at 8 days out and had lost 18 lbs. Not sure about today! I am eating scrambled eggs, soups, cheeses. I have not been bothered by anything yet. The hardest thing for me is to get the 64 oz. plus 80 grams of protein each day. I will do it though! I am on bugs bunny chewables and pepcid. Otherwise I am doing great!~
