My Dr. said!!!!

ok so i know everyones doc are ginving different info.. but i want to know!!!! im 3 weeks out on tuesday...what is to much like when it comes to foos????? i know im not hitting the full .... i eat a little soup or yorgert and they is not regergitaion(sp) so does that mean my pouch is not being filled up..i feel thefull pressure. as you can tell im crazy and im thinking, its not going to work..please tell me how much food you can fit in!!!! kate

Katie, I dont have what I would call a "full" feeling either. I just eat till I feel the hunger pain go away. Then it depends on the food I am eating as to how much I eat. My doc says 2-4 ounces at the stage I'm at (soft foods 1-2 ounces meat, 1-2 ounces fruit or veggie). I usully get in about an ounce of tuna fish salad before I start to feel satisfied. Again I dont feel full, just no longer hungry so I stop. On something like jello or pudding I get about 2 or 3 ounces in. My surgeon said that was fine. He said usually if you get to the "full" point youve gone too far and might end up puking. So I guess I'm a little cautious. Then again, he also has me eat 6 mini meals a day to compensate for the small amount I take in at each sitting. Every surgeon is different. I would just give them a call and find out what they think is appropriote for your stage and go by that. Also remember that jello and soups are not as dense as foods like tuna and cottage cheese, so you will probly get full faster by eating the denser foods. Krissy

We have the same date, and my doc wants me to eat 3 tablespoons this week then 4 the next. I have honestly had more on a couple occasions, and didn't feel full. I just got right back on track when that happened. I think that I never feel full because I take so long to eat, about an hour. I also never feel hungry either.
