OK, I spoke to my surgeon yesterday - twice. The first time he said that it was the suture INSIDE, hitting the muscles in there. Later that evening, I was in such pain - burning, terrible!! I spoke w/him@ 11:30 PM and he said that he knew what I was experiencing, that it certainly can feel like a burning, but that muscles have nerves in them, and it was definitely muscular pain around those sutures inside. He said to take some extra pain meds that ONE time. I finally was able to sleep, first in my recliner, and then in bed. When I woke up at 11:30 AM, the area around the navel was better, but.......two of the incisions (left side) were SO bad - like I felt the evening I had a C-section, knives just cutting into me. This kind of pain I WAS expecting, but had not experienced yet (I should be so lucky!). I decided to take some extra meds this 2nd time, and a friend came over and she and my husband did some Reiki healing on me. I think that that and the meds have helped, but I'm sure it will be worse again in one or both sites. Just can't wait till tonight.....
I am assuming that the incision pain goes down when the staples are removed??? Any experiences with that? I sure am hoping so!! Thursday they come out. All I know is that it's been a TOUGH weekend. Up until now I was even contemplating returning to work this coming week Ha!! so much for that, I just want to be able to sit in a chair or commode without having to plan for 10 minutes how to do it!!
I try and think about how I will be feeling in one month, three months, six months, and what buying an outfit at Chico's will feel like.
Feel better, everyone.
