any other lap proximals?
Hi
I am trying to see what the weight loss for other proximals are in the first month.
My surgery was on 2/1/05 and to date I have lost 45lbs
Also wanted to know how eating is going for people. Dr Oh has me on no bread or meat right now. I have been eating three small meals and in between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner i have a shake. I am finding I still am a little snacky and have had some nuts or cheese stick. Could this be effecting my weight loss?
Thanks
Angela
Sounds like you're doing great to me. I had proximal LAP RNY with Dr. Lauter in Kirkland on 2/16. I'm down 31 lbs. in 2 weeks. Having a hard time getting enough calories and protein in. Hard to get excited about pureed things. Have added cream cheese, cottage cheese, and peanut butter. Never thought I'd have a nutritionist encouraging me to eat those things! Do you like almond butter? It is really good and nutritious. I'll just be glad when I can have it on a wheat thin! Karen
I had my surgery done on the 22nd of Feb. and I am still having clear liquids until the 22 of March. How did you get to eat so soon? I have lost 37 lbs already. Do you suppose thats because everything is liquid? I would be extremely excited if I could eat pureed food right now. I think you are doing extremly well at your loss of weight at this time! Keep up the good work!! Vicki
All I can say to all three of you is WOW!!! I had surgery on the 2nd and the first week was just liquids, 2nd week I could have creamy, 3rd week soft foods (like poached eggs) and finally on week 4 some meat (soft like dark meat chicken and fish). I can only have 1/4 cup at a time 3X per day, no snacks. I can't believe you can have nuts. My Dr. would freak as I was told no nuts for 6 months because they could really hurt the pouch. Even with all of this I've only lost 24 lbs. You guys are far ahead of me.
Congrats on such successful weight loss,
Pat
