I am sooo glad that you all feel the same way I did. My surgery was 2/14 and I am feeling much better. I still have lower left pain, but getting better. I missed food soooo badly. Now that I am starting to eat my attitude has changed a lo****er is still a toughy but decaf tea is just fine. I miss diet soda though. Oh well, I am glad I did this at this point. Good luck to all.

As for me, the first 2 weeks were the hardest. I didnt get sick, I just had no energy at all. 15 days out and -23lbs. The first 3 or 4 days, I dreamed about food. It was so bad, my husband and son ate tacos and even that smelled good. I have never seen so many food commercials on tv. What I keep telling myself is "Food is what got me here and I am glad to be eating because I HAVE to instead of eating because I WANT to. Don't get me wrong, the comfort that came from diggin into some good ole grub I miss, but before long I will be replacing the urge to eat with the urge to exercise. I know it's tough, just keep your eye on the ball. When I get discouraged, I look at the before and after photos here on the site. It won't be long and we will be there too. Good Luck and God Bless

Well I feel the same way the mac truck was perfect. 21 days as of today.I have never been through such a nightmare. The feelings as everyone has said make you wonder what did I do? Its so funny I am off of many meds but at this point my mental health is more important. I really don't care a bout my weight at this point any more. Hower some things are better. It is better. I was told each day brings on new challengs and that is true. It is still hard I had some problems with my sx. So they put me on soild food 10 days out but the gas and is getting worse and now I feel like the food only makes it as far as my throut and sticks and water is no longer my friend. I am so very tired but I try to get out every day.I can't sleep at ll,so every night they have me take a sleeping pill. Not a great habit to start. But they said lack of sleep causes us become dreppessed fast our body heals slow and balances at night. So rember the pain will subside and new challenges good and bad.We just have to do what you did speak out so can learn what may come next and how ones have made througt it. Just don't push Well get there (Summer Time)

I am 1 month post op today and believe me I know what you mean about missing food. The first week out was tolerable but getting out of bed was tough! (sure makes you appreciate the bariatric beds in the hospital). Warning though, I was feeling good by the time I was one week post op and was down 9 lbs. Then I started working like crazy and ended up with an infection in my incisions and a backed up colon which not only stopped my weight loss completely I put on 4 lbs. Now at 4 weeks out I have finally lost those 4 lbs I have gained, got my colon to "act right" and am down a total of 10.6 lbs (far behind everyone else) The thing I am having a hard time with is remembering to eat slow. If I don't or I am stressed in the least the food sticks and I have pain in my sternum. Also, I don't experience a sense of "fullness" but I was told by tooter that is because the nerves haven't grown back and it will be about 6-8 weeks until I feel full. Has anyone else been experiencing food police? (friends family etc.) I will see something that I just want a taste of but can't have it because if someone (especially around my office) saw me eating a piece of candy they would have my head. There are always cookies, brownies, candy etc. around my office and it sure is tough to pass it up especially when I know that sugar doesn't make me dump!
