Pill Crusher!

Thought this info might come in handy for new post-ops. While I was at my local Dollar store I came across a pill crusher that works geat. The smashed pills taste is one of my least favorite things but this one really grinds them up. Then I float the crushed pills on the top of a bit of juice and drink them right down. A handy little gadget. I was smashing them between two spoons and then would often tip the whole thing over before finally getting them consumed. Doesn't make them taste any better, but works great. Thanks for bring this up. I have a pill crusher that I bought for my son a few years ago when he couldn't swallow some pills he had to take. I haven't used the thing in about 4 years. I looked in the medicine cabinet and there it was, still there. Funny, now I will probably be using it after Monday. Thanks

Another option, I got a mortar and pestle at TJ Maxx in the kitchen isle for pretty cheap. Whatever gets them down! Now I just cut each pill into about 4 pieces and I can swallow them with liquid. Cara W.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You I will be getting one of those tomorrow. It takes me an hour to get all those dawg on pills chopped up. I sit there looking like some kinda drug lord with all that stuff in front of me. Yesterday morning I sneezed and had to start the pill chopping process all over again. I bought one at the dollar store too! They also had a pill splitter. I bought mine a few weeks before surgery and then at the hospital my nurse gave me one. Guess what, the $1 store one works much better! ... now if we could just find a taste-taker-awayer.... Hugs, Susi
