pressure in my chest

I'm 3 weeks post-op and every time I drink or eat(mushie stuff) I get pressure in my chest. It only last for a second or two. I make sure that I don't drink or eat fast or that the liquids are too cold. What's up with that? Is any one else having this problem? Does it ever go away?

I occasionally get this too, and I'm 2 weeks post op. From what I've been told this is just your pouch adjusting to the food going in and the stoma releasing food. It should get better, but if it doesn't bring it up to your doctor, it could be a sign of a stricture. John

Lori, I am on a pureed diet now only 6 days post op. I wonder if it is to soon? I am following the diet time line the doctor gave me. I started today with this pain in my sternum just as you describe after eating soft mushie food. I have felt miserable all day as if something is stuck. Also have not been able to have a BM, don't have enough strength to. Tamara D.
