What a mess!!!

I had my surgery on the scheduled date of Feb 8th. I came out of surgery with an extra drain tube and a G tube to boot! Then I thought things were going fine I was actually getting to drink a yogurt protein drink for a day. Then I had a leak in my pouch. so none of the tubes get to come out yet and I'm not sure when they will. The Dr. wants it to heal on its own but I want them all out and to be able to get back on track. It sucks to have to inject everything you have to drink with a syringe into a tube. I guess the good thing is the weight loss, I've already lost 30# in two weeks. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this happen? Laura

Laura, I'm so sorry you have to go through this. Did they not give you an upper GI before they let you eat or drink? You might want to ask for a second opinion about whether the leak requires surgery rather than just healing. Best of luck to you and I hope you feel better soon!! Cara W.
