Have I lost enough?
I keep seeing everyone's posts about losing 15-20-25-30 lbs in one week. I've lost 11 and almost feel like a failure. Is 11 lbs enough in the first week? I'm not sure if I'm losing less than normal or if I am doing something wrong I see the doctor on Friday, so I'm sure he'll say if this is ok. Still, it's eleven lbs I never have to see again.

Cara,
You are doing great!! I promise!! I feel the same way. I only lost 12lbs the first week. We are doing wonderful and we are normal! And do not focus on the weight loss so much!! Even if it is only one pound, it is one pound we lost forever!! This is going to be the best thing we did for ourselves!! I know it! Congrats on the weight loss!

Cara,
Don't sweat it. Everyone's body is different, and everyone loses at a different rate, as long as you are losing, and your clothing is getting looser, and you are following the program set out by your physician, you are doing fine!
Just remember, slow and steady wins the race!!!
For instance, my first week after surgery I lost 19 lbs (and an extra 16 lbs before surgery due to the liquid diet), this past week, my second week, I've only lost 1 lbs. Things are going to change drasticly week to week, so don't sweat it! Your body is recovering from surgery, and any loss is a good loss!!!

Cara,
You are doing great. I lost only 10 pounds my first week out, then in the next five days, I lost five more pounds - then NOTHING for over 1 week. I've just started losing again. I sure was panicked about that! I have been reassured that all is well. I'm trying to concentrate more on the long term. I've even considered not weighing but only once a week, because I get so frustrated if I don't see that scale drop every morning. I am trying to concentrate on the 1 mo, 2 mo, 3 mo totals instead. But I have to admit, I still weigh every am prior to hopping in the shower.
Hi Cara!
Congratulations to you and ALL of the February 05 WLS people! This is my first post since getting home from the hospital (My surgery was feb.8th) i'm down 22 lbs in 2.5 wks and though its not as much as many others, I am HAPPY! Still, I think all of us would like to wake up, step on the scale a week after surgery and have lost 30 or 40 lbs - unfortunately, I guess this is not the reality for many/most. Even so, I remind myself that it would have taken me over 2.5 months to have lost 22 lbs (and thats sticking to it PERFECTLY with NO mistakes) at WWatchers, etc. and instead it's GONE in 2.5 WEEKS. I don't know how long it takes to get to that point i've heard others talk about where they stop losing - but, i'm sure gonna work my heart out to get to where I wanna be hopefully before then - at least "that's the PLAN" lol* umm but how many of us KNOW that the best laid plans......
I'm SOOO SOOOO sooo proud of ALL of us! Huge huggz to everyone!
