With great difficulty I am trying the Isopur protein drinks. But to be honest even the sugar free Jello is tough. The thing I find that causes the least amount of struggle is sugarfree popsicle. I think licking gets the liquid in at a slow pace or something...
I seem to have trouble sipping, as I have a tendency to take to large of swallows... and boy that hurts...
I seem to take all day to get 2 protein drinks down for a total of 40 oz with some water and popsicles in the middle.... but I am not even 7 days post op...
My boyfriend and I split a protein shake today. Champion Nutrition Pro Score 100 in Vanilla. I added a banana and a little apple pie spice and it tasted great and I held it down just fine.
As far as other liquids, I am handling apple juice the best. The water has been hard for me and seems to taste different after surgery. It makes me really burpy. Now that I am starting my pureed foods, I've gotta move away from the juices more. Still, it is nice to find something I like since surgery...just never would have thought it would be apple juice.

Water taste like metal to me, which is odd because that was one of my fav drinks pre surgery.
I have been drinking sweet tea (sweetened with splenda) And also wal-mart brand sf lemonaide mixed with a little splenda and crushed ice (taste like a lemon shake-up) but I am drinking both of these very very slow.
It can take me up to two hours to get down 6 oz.
The other thing that I have found really good is 1% and skim milk. Before surgery I HATED milk but now it actually tastes pretty good, so I have been drinking that and adding alittle protein into it.
And the sf popsicles are good too but very very sweet to me.
Did someone say apple juice??? I bought some thinking I wouldn't drink it,..not a big applejuice drinker but I was suprised that I liked it,..though I had to water it down a bit. I'm afraid to drink it too much though because of all the sugar.
