Hey Sweetie, Does your follow-up include calls from the Dr.'s support staff on a daily basis? It should. I'm not a medical professional but I would say yellow is not good, light pink is the norm. As far as the pain when coughing or burping, I don't think that is too unusual. I think you ought to give the Dr. a call. Glad your fever is gone though!!!! Pat

Deb I was told that when yellow stuff comes out of your j tube that that means it is time for it to come out. I am 4 days post op and still have mine in. Hopefully it will be removed on monday. take care and call your doctor if you are concerned Dont forget he/she works for you!!! Chad

clear yellow is generally ok. It shouldn't have any foul odor when you empty it. It may also have some pink or light red also, and that is ok as well. Should not be pus, green or thick yellow. Also, my surgeon had me check my temp at least once a day for the first week, and if you are not running a temp over 100. then it is also generally OK. I also find that if I take too big of a sip (sometimes I just forget to sip and take my "normal" swallows), I get a bit of cramping and even then have to burp. When I remember to drink like I'm supposed to, I don't have any problems.
