Help, cold or allergies, surgery on Monday!!

I am not sure if I am coming down with something or it is allergies, I have been stuffy every morning and chest feels funny. I have been popping some antibiotic from my last bout of bronchitis, and taking, echnacea, vitamin c and Zinc!!! I dont know what else to do but I am freaking out since my surgery is only 4 days away. Anyone have any extra tips?? Thanks Christi

Hey Christi, I too have gotten a head cold so am looking forward to others replies. I do know however that you are not supposed to take echenacha (sp?) when you are going to be having surgery. Not sure why though. Good luck, Jenny

MY SURGERY IS ON THUR. THE 24 AND I STARTED TO GET SICK. I HAVE DOUBLE EAR INFECTIONS, I WAS PUT ON ANTIBIOTICS. I CALLED THE SURGERONS OFFICE IMMEDIATLY THEY SAID A LOT OF PEOPLE WERE COMING DOWN WITH URI. PLENTY OF FLUIDS, REST. I AM HOPING TO BETTER BY TUES, IF NOT I WILL HAVE TO POSTPONE, GOOD LUCK.

Kristi, I know what you mean about the respiratory thing going around. My three boys are getting it, one at a time! This whole thing could be lingering around my house for the next month at this rate. The last thing I want to get is a cold after abdominal surgery (Ouch!). I have been sipping green tea for prevention. I am unsure what effects it has on bleeding times for surgery though. Best wishes to you and hope that you feel at your best on surgery day! Diana
