Hi, today is my first day visiting the message board. I am scheduled for surgery tommorrow morning at 9am. I have been so calm all these months and now I'm scared. I have two little girls and I am trying to pretend nothing is wrong so I don't scare them. Well I know I don't know anyone out there yet but if anyone feels the same let me know so I don't feel alone. Cherie

Cherie I think we all get scared just before the operation. I did but am glad I did it. I know you will be ok and I hope the best for you. I had my bypass done on 2/2/05 so I only two weeks post op. I fell better and have already lost a bunch of weight. I lost 16 lbs the first week. I have not weighted myself this week. I have a Doctor app. next week and will want until then to see how much. Talk care and god be with you as he was with me. Alan

Cherie, I'm sorry you are scared, I'm sure everything will go great for you. I know how you feel because I have 3 boys of my own. You'll be fine, just do what the doc says and it'll all be good. Keep in touch and let me know how you do! Cathi

Please don't feel alone. You have thousands of weight loss surgery brothers and sisters that have walked before you and paved the road for you. I am one week and two days post-op and feeling pretty darn good. We all felt some level of fear in the days prior to our surgery so you are just where you need to be. When the discomfort and side effects subside you will not regret for one second that you had this operation. Even when I was in pain I NEVER regreted mt decision. Know there are many out here rooting for you. Peace and blessings for your surgery. Jessica D

Hi Cherie, I am going through the same feelings as you. I too have 2 small girls and dealing with the same fears. My surgery isn't for about another week and half, so I can understand how you are feeling right about now. Don't worry everything will be o.k. (I know it's easier said then done because I too feel like you) but look at the positive side. You are going to enjoy life, you will see we will be happy once again. Let me know your progress when ever you get a chance. Best wishes, Luly

Hi Cherie, I too know how you feel. I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old. I was scared too, but know that this was the best thing for them also. I knew at my weight I could drop dead of a heart attack or stroke at any time. Remember you are doing the right thing and it will all be over soon. I am 7 days post op and feel great except for some fatigue. Good Luck, Mary
