Soooo EXCITED

Hey All, I just got back from my appt. with my surgeon. He is the BOMBdigitybomb! LOL He has been doing this for many many years. His success rate is QUITE high, so that makes me feel LOTS better. He told me that he things I am going to do real well with the RNY. However, he does NOT recommend protein shakes past two wks postop, he said they will only set you up for failure. Makes total sense to me.....He said I should be starting on soft foods after two weeks, and if I can't get my protein in then I should be back at his office because there is a problem. The man spent over an hour with me. I don't know any dr that does that very often. Ok, so I'm too excited. Well I'm excited and I can't hide it!!! LOL..............Diana, we're gonna make it girl! Lorraine, I'm glad yours went well.....I'm hoping for the same with mine. I am so looking forward to a new life....How much have you lost so far? Cathi

Cathi, Yes we are going to make it for sure! Can you only imagine what we will look like for summer? That will my thought as they put me under to do the surgery. (Hmmm, what color bathing suits should we plan on?) So glad to hear that your appointment went well. I had my preoperative class this evening. Went great! What a nice class to go to at this point in the journey. My doc says the same thing about protein shakes too. I will be on pureed by week two. Talk to you soon! Diana

Dear Cathi, I'm glad you got a good surgeon, that is very important. Be glad you will be on soft food after 2 weeks. I have to wait 3. I am just on liquids right now (7 days post op) and then get to start protein shakes next Tues. and have to wait another week to start soft foods. Not eating has been the hardest part for me.
