I am 8 days post op. I am getting stronger and feeling better every day. I saw the doctor today. She said I could start slowly to introduce food. Make sure it is moist and very tender. I am sooo excited to have something other than liquids. I see my surgeon next Tuesday. I hope he will let me go back to work. I don't want to use up all my time. From December when I saw the surgeon until the morning of the surgery (2/7/05) I gain and lost weight. I was fighting the last meal syndrome. I didn't want to have my pre-surgery weight higher than when he set the date. Then it was postponed two weeks because he got sick. As it ended up I was right at the same weight. Now eight days post-op I am down 11 pounds!!! That is down 47 pounds from my high. I am one pound shy of going from Morbid Obesity to Severe Obesity!!! Diana, Congratulations on being postop! I am so excited for you that all has went well and you are on the fast track to recovery. I will be returning back to work in two weeks also. Do you think you will be ready? I worry that I will get the surgery and not be ready in two weeks. I know what you mean about the last-meal syndrome. I have been going through it for the past week and just made up my mind this week to get back on track. I am now modifying my diet of high carbs. Hope this helps. Again, congrats! Diana

Dear Diana, So glad all is going well for you as it is for me. I'm 13 days post op and felt absolutely great (walking 1.5 miles per day****il a couple of days ago when I started to feel very tired in the afternoons. Although I "could" return to work if need be, I'm very glad I saved some money to take unpaid leave. I think I need it for both getting through this period and also to work on some "head" issues. Good luck to you and know you are supported in whatever you choose. Pat

First off congrats to you . I am 6 days post op from lap-band I went to the doctor yesterday and had my staples removed. I am going back to work in 2 more days. I walk everyday and have had no taken any medication for pain. I am trying to keep on protein shakes, but they taste terrible . My Dr. had instructed us to do diluted liquid for 5days then protein shakes for about 2 weeks. I am starting to dream about cottage cheese. Again good luck to you and keep up the good work I am now down 11 pounds from surgery. Remember to take te food slow ,you don't want to stretch your pouch.

I was glad I did not have a any stapples to be removed. They used some kind of glue to cover, protect and hold the incisions together. I guess it is like that "new skin". It seamed to work well. Seamed stange to go home with no bandages. I find if I have a very busy day I am really drained by night fall. How long are you staying out of work? Diana

I am 10 days post-op and getting better every day. Gas-X works o.k. I had Lap Band. I saw the nutritional doctor on Tuesday. I weighed in at her office down 11 pounds since surgery. She said I could start introducing very moist food. Yesterday I had Sashimi for lunch and Salmon for dinner. It tasted wonderful!!!. I was getting so sick of drinking my meals. I am still sore in my mid-section and I tire easy. Which surgery did you have? Diana
