Kris, I can't tell you about what will happen after surgery, because my date is the same as yours..where will you be having your surgery? I would like to keep in touch with you. We can swap hospital stories..LOL..I live in Fresno and will be having my surgery here.
Take care,
Karen
LAP RNY 2/17/05 yikes...It is getting close..
Hi Kris,
Congratulations, I am so happy for you, and truly the time goes by so fast. I had my surgery monday Feb 7th, and I am home and feel really good. my incisions are a little sore, and was told not to do and heavy lifting (15lbs or more) for 3 weeks. But everyone is different and your surgeon can answer that for you. However, it wont stop you from playing with your baby on the floor, or laying with her on your bed, or sitting her on you lap or next to you. I am sure you and your surgeon can come up with alot of alternate ways interact with your baby, I am sure she will inspire your fast and safe recovery.
On day 1 It was really a blur, I slept alot. By day 2 I started walking and was on a clear diet, still a some pain so I had a personal pain pump that you push when you feel pain for little doses, and they gave me something for nausea. I ate alot of ice chips as the SF food was too sweet for me. On day 3 I felt almost normal, everyone said I looked great, I was off my IV and could freely walk 3 laps every couple of hours, they started me on soft foods sf pudding, cream soup who would have thought they would taste so good. I was then released to go home that night.
I have been home for 2 days, I am just a little sore around my incisions, and when I lay down I change sides every now and again because I get a little sore. I am still on a soft diet. Danimals are great, cream soup, pudding. I just eat very small amouts because I am not really hungry, and I try to drink all of my water.
I know you will do well, and your life will change for the better, just think of all the things youll get to do with that beatiful baby girl. Keep your chin up and love that baby all you can, and before you know it she will be back in your arms. Lots of Love Kris. May God smile upon you and yours, and may he bless the hands of your surgeon. Happy days are right around the corner. Take care Sweetie.
Kriss.. we have so mu*****ommon, not only are our surgery dates the same but I have a 13 month old that I am missing already as well. I am more concerned about leaving him alone with daddy as I am a stay at home mom and dad has never been alone with him for more that a few hours and I will be in the hospital for at least 4 days. I am scheduled for surgery at 11 am and have to be at the hospital by 6am. I will pray for you and feel free to e-mail me. I have several ways to be with your baby without having to lift them.....
