Congradulations on getting your surgery approved! I was shocked at what your mother told you about being nasty and discusting "How dare she" . No one should have to put up with that kind of abuse from a parent. Good luck and my thought are with you. I'm just starting the process, have an appointment on Friday for a consultation. hope I get approved. With the Lap Band not the bypass. Scared about the long term cost of mal absorption. HI GAIL! Thanks for your support..I wish you the best of luck with your approval for the lap band. Make sure you research your doctor! As for my mom, she can't help the way she is. She was raised in the old world, where women have absolutely no value. It affected during my childhood to have a mother so emotionally detached, might have been what lead me to my emotional eating, eventually resulting in my current morbidly obesed state. What I've learned is that there's no point getting depressed about things like that. I have suffered so much hardships in my life that there is one thing I find helps me through it..."all you can do is deal with the cards that life has dealt you". You can either do the best you can with what you have, or you can give up and fold. If you feel sorry for yourself or things that happen to you, then you will never be able to move forward. I accept people for the who they are. Believe it or not, I love my mom very much and she loves me, although it doesn't sound like it. She is a very negative person, and I know that. Thanks so much for your concern. I really do appreciate it. I love everyone on here. Again, hurry up and get your approval! ;)
