My Nutritional packet says no alcohol for at least one year. I understand that all surgeons and their plans are different. Bette

My take is, alcohol is completely out, 100%, for the first 6 mos. After 6 mo., a fairly low-alcohol drink, such as wine would be okay if tolerated, but in strict moderation, like one glass and certainly not anywhere near regularly. No hard liquor for a year, and then again in moderation. My surgeon says no beer ever. My surgery is in 8 days, and I'm going to have at least 2 good martinis before I go!! Marie

I had my surgical consult today and I understood that alcohol was out forever. They didn't give me a timetable but said to stay away from all alcohol. But all dr.s seem to be very different. Good Luck!
