Surgery dates Feb 8-14 post here!
It's not you whose posting in the wrong place, it's me! My date is Feb 5, so I should be posting in the "Surgery dates Feb 1-7" message thread.
I would call the doctor's office to find out what medications you should avoid, but I know they generally don't want you to take anything that can thin the blood, like aspirin, nor things that can lead to possible blood clots, like birth control pills.

My date is Feb. 11!! I am so excited. I went on a show a few weeks ago that is doing a one hour special on WLS, and they are bringing me back in 3 months to see my progress. So, let's see what happens.
Congrats to everyone here and thanks for posting this Jennifer! (p.s. I am also self-pay)

Sure thing, it is a national program. It is the Larry Elder Show (he used to be the judge on moral court). I know it is on 10am m-f on abc here in Tampa...but anyone can check their local listing at www.larryeldertv.com. It should be airing sometime in May, I will post when I know for sure. I am having my surgery here in Tampa, FL at The Wish Center with Dr. DiCiccio. I noticed you live in Jamaica...must be interesting!! My husband and I are possibly moving to Europe when we are done with school, I can't wait! (My hubby is French-Ivorian) We are going to check on real estate and the job market while we are there having our "re-wedding" next year. Have you always lived in Jamaica?

Hi and thank you Jennifer and John for your supportive words. I am scheduled for Lap Band surgery on Feb. 11th. I have just began a two week regimen of drinking Slim Fast and other liquids only. I actually had a thought that if I could continue with this Slim Fast regimen, then maybe I would cancel the surgery, and just do this.. What am I thinking? I have done that, and many other "diets", and I just ended up regaining the weight and more.. Oh boy, am I getting anxious. I won't have anyone with me the day of surgery, because I have to go to NYC, by train by myself. My son-in-law will pick me up, though on the day of discharge, which should be the following day. It is quite a distance from my home to NYC. I am staying overnight the night before in a hotel. It should be fine. My daughter has 3 kids and expecting another. I just didn't want her to have made this trek. No need in anyone sitting around a hospital waiting room unnecessarily. As long as I know that you guys will be thinking of me, and praying for my success will be enough. I will also be keeping each and everyone of you in my thoughts and prayers on your big day.. God bless,
