Feb. 7 and counting down

I have gone thru each step, and now going thru the pre-op testing on Monday along with the ultrasound and upper gi and then Feb. 7 I start being the in losers group.. thank God.

Catherine, I too am scheduled for 2/7/05...Yikes!!!! I'm excited but scared at the same time...I am always being stopped by people who think I look just like John Candy, who of course is no longer with us...this time next year they'll be stopping me and saying," hey, arn't you Tom Cruise?" !!! Hope 2/7/05 is our lucky day...good luck to you!

Sounds good. I am having my surgery done at the Univ. of Penn. Tomorrow I go for my pre-op final meeting. They do a final physical, blood test, lots of paperwork etc. The only problem I have had so far is a prejudice clearly shown from my PCP. He's taken aback that Univ. of Penn seems to be calling all the shots (duh) regarding testing, blood tests, EKG, etc. In fact, he made me take a stress test even thought it was not required and I have absolutely no heart related problems. I need final clearance fron him and he won't sign off until I jump through all his hoops even thought he has access to all the testing I have done in the last 3 months from UPENN. He's -------me off...hopefully all will go well tomorrow. How has your preparations gone? Any similar problems? Anybody out there with PCP problems?

I well understand the ego of your doctor. I have worked for them for 16 years and believe me it does get in the way sometime. Hope all goes well tomorrow for you. I will be sending you positive thoughts.

Hi Catherine Feb 7 is my date also. I am so nervous! I have gone through my PAT, and am just waiting. I think that is the hardest part! I have never had anxiety before, but noe I think I am becoming an expert! Good luck to you!

The closer the date the longer I lay awake at night. That must be anxiety. I know it will be here very soon. Good luck to you also. We will make it thru. Cathy
