Hi Tammy! This is how it all went down for me: I had my surgery consult (12/28/04). It was 3 appointments where I met with the internist, Dr. Leslie Wells; the psychologist, Sallie Hildebrandt; and my surgeon, Dr. Zorn at Pacific Bariatrics. It went better than I had anticipated and I have official clearance from all them to have the RNY gastric bypass!!! YEE-HOO!!!!! For those of you who want to know exactly what happened...read on! 10:30 a.m. - At the internists the nurse weighed me, checked my height, took my blood pressure (114/84...it was good today!), took my temperature, oxygen test (breathed a short fast breath in a tube with measurements to see how far the little ball would move up) & EKG! When the doctor came in she went over my paperwork that I had turned in to Pacific Bariatrics and she went over my results. Nice lady! 12:00 p.m. - The psychologist went over the paperwork from Pacific Bariatrics and asked me a few question. She asked: Do you like your parents? How was it growing up? What do you think your ideal weight should be? Do you feel that you have been discriminated against because of your weight? How does your husband feel about you getting WLS? Do you drink? Have you done any drugs? I'm sure there are a few more, but I can't remember. 2:15 p.m. - At Dr. Zorn's I was weighed on a body fat analysis machine that measured how much of my weight is fa****er, muscle, etc. I then had my BP taken again and was told to get naked! Dr. Zorn was so nice and answered all my questions, including his take on pregnancy after WLS. He says that is absolutely safe and just stresses that we wait to start "trying" until I am 1 year post-op! He says I am a candidate for LAP but may have to switch to OPEN depending on a couple things. I carry all my weight in the middle and he told me to be sure not to gain any...but to try and lose a few if possible. He didn't say I HAD TO...but that it would be in my best interest, especially since I want LAP. That's it...hope I didn't bore ya! ~Ronda 18 days left

Tammi, I worried about this at first because I've had problems with depression. The truth is tht you have to be extreeeemely disturbed to not pass. I'm talking not able to function in society disturbed. I'm sure you have nothing to be worried about. Don't sweat it. Good Luck, Bette

SO THEY ARE PROBABLY ALL THE SAME. HONESTLY I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT HAD TO DO WITH ANYTHING. THE DR. ASKED ME IF I KNEW WHY I HAD TO SEE HIM AND I SAID THAT I WNATED TO ASK HIM THE SAME THING. HE SAID THAT THEY WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT I WILL NOT FLIP OUT AFTER SURGERY. HOW THEY WOULD EVEN KNOW THAT, I DON'T KNOW. I DON'T EVEN KNOW IF I WILL FLIL OUT. I THINK I WILL FLIP OUT WITHOUT THE SURGERY. BUT ANYWAYS, $275 AND AN HOUR OR SO OF TIME AND THAT WAS IT. i STILL WONDER WHAT THE HECK I PAID FOR, BUT, HEY, AS LONG AS I CAN HAVE SURGERY
