I have a Surgery date set for February 18th, 2005. The process was fast once I found the right surgeon. My first consultation with my surgeon, Dr. Matt Kirkland was November 30th, 2004. I had originally contacted the Bariatric Treatment Center a few years ago but they would not even let me have a consultation because I have a rare, slow-growing cancer. I was so fortunate to find Dr. Kirkland. He is a bariatric surgeon as well as a cancer and endocrine surgeon. My slow-growing cancer is an endocrine cancer. He's familiar with it and is willing to perform surgery. I have been about 300 pounds for almost 14 years. I was 263 when I got pregnant with my daughter in November 1990. My daughter has never seen me any other way but morbidly obese. I can't wait to play ball and take walks with her.
