Old Demons
Hi I have'nt been here in ages and I should drop in more often. There is safety in numbers. I too have the old sugar carb cravings and I do sometimes give in. I have found the more of that stuff you eat the more you want. There is never enought to satisfy. I don't dump but sugar knocks me out I have to go to sleep and it does make me a little queezy. Also anything with much fat makes me feel ill. But the amazing part is I STILL EAT IT! Stupid huh... I guess the thing to do is not tempt fate. Just don't eat it at all because it seems to wake up some kind of old demon. I have'nt gained weight but I am sure I will if I don't stay on top of it every moment of every day. i keep a food log I write down everything i eat complete with calories and protien grams. I find it helps. You know what you are taking in and you know when you are taking in too much or too much of the wrong things.
My mom also had the surgery but she is still in "The Honeymoon" She says oh I don't have any of these problems....Sad thing is I know her time is coming. We have to get to thr root of why we do these things. I find most of the time when I really want junk or am tempted to eat when I am not hungry there is really something else going on.
Stop and think about what you are eating and why you are eating it and always remember why you had surgery and think about how far you have come. And hang in there!! Peace Love and a Very Merry Christmas to all my Feb.05 brothers and sisters!
Hi Christine, oh the honeymoon stage, wouldn't it be nice to be back there. I didn't experience the cravings I have now and didn't tempt fate, lol. I too am fighting the carb/sugar demons, yep I do my best to stay straight but sometimes I eat them anyway unfortunately. It's amazing how emotions can cause so much trouble *sigh*.
Just for instance, last night I ate a small sweet cake and guess what, I got sick....it doesn't happen very often but get ****y and watch out, my tool let me know who has in control. Last night was the 2nd time in 22 months for me to vomit, the first time was just 3 weeks ago.....so a lesson learned for me....my pouch rules, lol.
Best wishes to you and yours.
