Topic: RE: Does anybody stay cold all the time?
I have had this problem for quite some time..and it's normal. Think of it this way.. we've lost our insulation! Which is good, but we lose heat quickly. I spend most evening under an electric blanket, and in 2 pairs of clothes..typically a pair of longjohns covered with sweats. It's a small price to pay, but can be frustrating through the daytime. I work in a pediatric clinic, and I know that I must freeze the tykes to death at times with my cold hands!

Yes it's amazing, everyone thinks I am crazy that I am cold and they are not. Wonder if it's all the weight loss, well it's a problem that I can live in exchange to be thin. I wear gloves and use blankets. Keep Warm!

Just wondering if anybody stays cold all the time now. My hands are always freezing! Even if I wear gloves. Is this normal? I find myself sitting on my hands to warm them up and that helps, but you can't sit on your hands all the time! Any suggestions would be appreciated. Wanda

Topic: Exercise for Saturday...
Got two miles of walking in this morning. This week was not too great as far as getting my 11 miles in, but it was a very hectic week. Next week will be back to normal. Am going to try to get the 11 miles in. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate! I'm also going to try to incorporate some running in with my walks. I'll see how that goes. I can really tell a difference in how I feel since I've started exercising regularly again. I dropped 2 pounds this week and attribute alot of that to my exercising. I also feel so much better! Did you get any exercising in today?

Topic: RE: What's your favorite High protein food?
Hi mary! It has been so long since I have been here. I am struggling to lose the 25 lbs I put on. So far I have lost 9 of them. Basically, I REALLY, REALLY watch my portions. I am also monitoring my sugar intake because I don't want my diabetes to come back. I also keep a log book on what I eat daily, how much I eat, and what I am doing when I eat it. Keeps things honest. My favorite protein foods are swordfish, tilapia, scallops, tuna, steak, and my vanilla pineapple protein powder. I love all things really but these stand out more. Deli meat is great for lunch. I usually have about 2-3 oz of roast beef or turkey with 2 oz of cheese and a few pickles. My breakfast is usually 1 cup of cream of wheat with 1/8 cup of a splenda/pumpkin spice mix, a mini box of raisins, pat of butter, and one scoop of vanilla pineapple protein powder. I have been having a lot of salad lately. Mostly for dinner. Last night it was a plate of salad with some chopped egg, tomato, extra sharp cheddar cheese, cukes, red peppers, mixed greens, spinach, and 2 chicken tenderloins. I get a lot of carbs from this but all complex carbs. Same with my breakfast. I usually have 2-3 snacks which consist of either a boiled egg, cheesestick or yogurt. Once in a while a banana or south beach peanut butter protein bar. I have lost 9 lbs so far with this. It seems like a lot but it balances out. Joanne

I love to horseback ride! The only thing is I can't walk straight for days afterward. LOL I didn't do a thing Tuesday and know I won't be able to get anything in today or tomorrow. I'm really going to have to huff it Friday and Saturday aren't I to be able to get my 11 miles in a week in? I've gotten 3 in so far.... that leaves.... 7!!!! We'll see. Take care.....Wanda

No Sarah, you are not the only one. I have gained some weight back too and am slowly getting back down to where I was before. I do not want to "diet" for the rest of my life...I try to look at it as just making better choices. I know what foods are best for me to eat, it does not change that I have cravings for the worst foods though. I do not want to go back to the struggles of feeling deprivation and reward with food either. If I really want something not so good for my body, I make a deal with myself that I must eat something good first and then have a bite or two of what I was craving (less room in the stomach to gorge myself with it). To speed the weight loss to get to goal, I am making a conscious effort to try to follow the rules of the pouch as found on many sites (just type rules of the pouch in any search engine and you will find them). I am not used to water loading yet, but will be working on it for the next couple weeks. I wish you the best in your journey and know that you can do it. You did not break your tool, it is just a little rusty...you will find the way to make it work again. Thank you for being honest and sharing your struggle, so we all know we are not alone either, Dorothy
