You are right you are not alone I have gained back 20 lbs since last year. The honeymoon is over. Tell me how weigh****chers is doing for you I love that program and found it to be the most realistic program out there. I am thinking about going back to WW but I am going back to basics protein shakes and eating like I did when I went to full foods. Remember chew, chew, chew that is really important cause I found myself swallowing without chewing and sipping tha****er all day, make sure you get those liquids in. Annette

You are in my prayers and always will be. I am glad that you have been feeling stronger and remember that as long as you have the drive you will overcome any obstacle. Love your WL Sister Annette

Good evening, I want to lend you my support. I know you must feel badly about having gained the 56 pounds. Congratulations on the weight you have lost and maintained. Sounds like you've been thinking a lot about the causes and halted the gain. That's great. I think weigh****chers is a good place to go to feel support and get yourself back on track. Good for you. Don't ever give up on yourself. You deserve to make it to goal or whatever weight feels comfortable. Have you considered counseling to help sort out your bad habits? Hopefully ww meetings will get into that important topic. Just curious ~ does ww still have unrealistic weight goals? Please keep us updated on the last half of your weight loss journey and how ww fits in. Best wishes, Paula

Topic: Gained weight
Hello All, It has been quite a while since I have posted on this board, but I feel that I am not alone in my experience with gaining weight after surgery. I am now 3 years post -op and have gained 56 pounds. I joined weigh****chers yesterday and am feeling very positive about trying to get the weight off. It amazes me how some of us fall into thinking that the surgery will cure us of our weight issues, but I have come to realize that it is only a tool and we cannot have unrealistic expectations. Due to medication changes and old habits I have gained over half of the weight I lost. I refuse to give up on myself and feel that with WW and an exercise program I will one day eventually make it to my goal of 200 pounds. I would be satisfied to make it to my lowest weight of 227, but I am going to take one day at a time and not overwhelm myself.

Good afternoon my February 2004 Family, I apologize that I haven't kept in touch for over a year. I was diagnosed with metastatic cancer, that had spread from the breast cancer I was sure I had beaten after 7+ now. The tumors and pain have been stable in my bones and lungs from radiation to my lower back and weekly chemo. I now have stage 4 cancer and ~4 yrs to live. Of course I will fight to lengthen that time. I have a very strong faith and know that God is by my side through this journey. If you are so inclined, remembering me and my family in your prayers would be so welcomed. Maintenance remains difficult even with the loss of appetite and nausea and vomiting of sixteen months of strong chemo agents. I have gone up and down from 119 - 129 with my goal of 125. Today I weigh 123.6 and thank God for that. Anyway I feel a bit stronger and felt the need to get back in touch. I'll update as much as possible. Love to you all, Paula 299/123.6 @5'3"
