Don't feel alone, Eileen. Old habits have reared their ugly heads with me also! I think what Mary said about taking it a day or even an hour at a time is just about how I have to be. One thing that does keep me on track is coming to this site daily and getting inspiration from everyone. I also think the first step to all of us keeping the weight off is acknowledging that we are going to have work for it.... and it looks like that is what you've done.
Welcome back!!!!!

Hi Eileen,
Welcome back. Hope we will see you posting more often.
I think all of us are able to eat more than we could before. Not huge amounts of course, but what might be considered a normal amount of food. It is easy to get slack when we are this far out AND it is possible to regain weight. I trying my best too to stay on track and lose some more weight. It is hard, I agree with you. I've gone from a 58 BMI down to a 33 BMI but am still obese. I'm 6 lbs under my surgeon's goal weight for me, but know on my small frame I definitely could lose more safely.
Food can have such a hold on us at times. We have to take it a day at a time, sometimes a bite at a time too.

Topic: Not Behaving...
Hi Folks:
I haven't been on this page for about a year. Life seemed to get really busy. Anyway, I thought I'd better get back to some positive reinforcement and support so I can get back on track. I seem to be able to eat everything and decent portions too. Not like I used to but resonable sizes compared to a year ago. I'm back to drinking large amounts of diet soda. So, on Saturday I'm going to quit cold turkey with the pop! I was caffine (sp?) free for over a year. I stopped working out and somehow I'm maintaining, but it's higher than I'd like to be. Oh heck that's probably a lie I'm telling myself because I havn't gotten on the scale in at least 6 months. As soon as I was no longer technically overweight I guess I just decided my food addictions were gone. Oops, I guess I'm like an alcholic when it comes to food. It's never going to go away and I need to buck up and deal with it. Sounds so easy doesn't it.
WOW, I never thought it would be this hard! It's great to see some of the old names still on board posting. Any support is welcome, and Happy Anniversary.

Topic: RE: Pouch size
I agree, from what I have read it does stretch.
A number of post-ops from another list I belong to that are long term post-ops (4+ years out) that if they go back to the basic plan (what we did right after surgery) that they truly feel their pouch gets smaller and that the sugar dumping returns.
They do high protein, portion control, lots of fluids and exercise.
