I'm still staying away from sugar for the most part. Altho I did have my husband put his M&Ms in his home office instead of the kitchen. Don't want to be tempted. Know I'm doing more grazing than I should (more carbs items like bread) and am working hard to get back to high protein/low carb. Mary

Topic: RE: Bod Fat Calculations Confusing
Don't even have a clue as to which is the best way to calculate. I know my doctor did body fat % before surgery with a special machine with electrodes that were put on different parts of my body. Haven't had it done since. I'm judging more by BMI than anything else. Mary

Julia, I got a new digital scale for Christmas that is supposed to calculate percentage of fat. So after reading your post yesterday, I thought I'd try to figure out how to get it to tell me my fat percentage (I now wish I hadn't - 39%). It all seems so confusing! Congratulations on your working out routine. Those elliptical machines are a great work out! I have been trying to work out at least 4 times a week, 30 minues or 500 calories burned, which ever comes first. Surely if I keep it up, the fat percentage will lower.

Topic: RE: NEED PROTEIN
I eat Power Crunch bars between meals as my snack and needed additional calories for maintenance. I'm a vegetarian, so meat is out. I cannot eat much in the way of raw fruits and veggies or their skin...makes getting everything I need a bit difficult at times..so I supplement with protein bars. Rusty 255/138

Boy, Julie. I don't know! When they try at the health club, they tell me they can't measure it any more...not through my loose skin cuz there's no fat in there! Gotta find a different machine or whatever I guess. Cheers, Rusty

Hi All! 1. I wrote my first check at Coldwater Creek! Writing it for something great for myself was a treat! 2. No more knee pain and wearing size 4 blue jeans!! 3. The Aviator last weekend with my hubby. 4. Have my book published...or accepted anyway...publication can take 2-3 years after the book is completed. 5. Last year I wore size 22-24. This year? Size 4-6 pants and size 8-10 tops. 6. I never lost any hair but I had it all cut off...going young and pixie-ish! 7. Yep. I keep my profile updated. 8. Yes, I've read several others' profiles. I identify with so many of them it's difficult to pick out just a few names. You're all sensational! Cheers, Rusty

Surgery Date - 2/27/2004 Highest Weight - 3/2/1999 - 475 lbs Surgery Weight - 365 lbs Right Now - 265 - "Finally" entered the century club this AM Goal - 138/155 depending on how I look/feel LOSS TO DATE - 210 lbs It's been very hard for me emotionally at times during the post surgery journey. I have followed all the rules very well (not perfect tho), I exercise and still have a "very" slow weight loss. However, I have come to terms with it more now and as long as I know I can get there then I'll be happy. I give myself at this point the full 2 years from the date of my surgery to get to my goal. I have been very fortunate and have had no complications. Great job everyone and I wish you all & myself continued success.

I have been told about the problem with the pills too. I tried the patch, but was having heavy periods, and two a month..so now I'm on depo since August. Love the convience of it (except I'm spotting a little for 2 weeks now.. should resolve, but still annoying!) And my weight loss hasn't slowed down or stopped since starting it.. OH! And noooo mood swings. Sure my boyfriend would say otherwise though!! HAHA!
