Topic: Thank you for such wonderful emails!
Okay! After misspelling nearly word, I want you to know that my fingers get tired at 11 miles as well as my feet! Hahaha----(brain was there many years ago, now it sleeps through most of my journeys! Haha!)
Still down 106 pounds, can't believe it. Over three months of daily walks, complaining, aching, being a lousy example, ect.....and the One who loves me----(psssst. His name is called this in the book of John!) revealed his marvelous lovingkindness to me once again.
Truth is, I lost my live-in patient of 12 years (she was mentally challenged) a week before Christmas. Besides the love of this woman who had become a family member as well, I lost my income right along with her. For days, in prayers and questions, I honestly didn't know how I was going to survive the grieving and worry.
And then,The one who loves me, reminded me, Joy cometh in the morning. And wow! 12 pounds in two weeks. I do not believe even in a moment that I lost the weight because I was under stress and did not eat....(no luck there, always eat no matter what----that beast never sleeps.)
He was with me, and smiled upon me. I do hope this post is not pulled, but even if it is.....may it bless the moderator *****ads it first and then deletes! ("The one who loves me also loves you") will get ya, you know.........he always does! In such delightful ways!)
Much love and admiration for the courage of this faithful board. Off for my 5 mile walk......whew, yesterday at 11 miles was a challenged goal, today I rest while I walk. Too funny.......for many years, I couldn't get to the bathroom and rest along the way. Now look at me go!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love to all!

My! Did the year 2004 go by so fast... Well it been 11 months now since my surgery and I have lost a total of 116 pounds as of today. I still have 15 more pounds to go to make my goal of 160 and only one months to do it in. I hope to make that, but if not, maybe by the summer. My weight lost has really slowed to a crawl... I'm down from 291 to 175, from a size 22W to 12's and some 10's, and feeling so good about my self. If I lose the other 15 pounds, that's good, if not, Oh Well!
I have new pictures if anyone want to take a look.... http://photos.yahoo.com/lross8192

My doctor only has me counting protein so 75 to 125 grams a day for me. I'm only to eat carbs if I really have room and make them an extra not a primary item if I eat them.
Keep going with the exercise. You will get back on track. I think our bodies too go thru periods of rest with weight loss so that isn't unusual. But we need to maintain our exercise and eating right even during those times.
Many people use fitday.com to track food intake and the nutritional breakdown.

What a great post to read...and you are smiling again. Sounds great. Walking 11 miles? That's tremendous. Keep up the good work and attitude.

I use a calorie/exercise journal from CalorieKing.com. It is a great tool. I track everything I eat on there and my exercise too. I keep my net calories under 1200 a day. I was told no more than 30 grams of fat and get at least 50 grams of protien a day. I usually go over my fat but my calories and protien are usually good. I have noticed drinking all of my water helps too. Another trick I like is popping a piece of gum into my mouth immedietly after I feel the least bit full. This keeps me from picking at my left over food. I have hit a plateau too but I am only 2 lbs away from my goal and I am not going to sweat that. I like to feel like I am not done yet so I will keep trying. I dont want to lose this drive to eat healthy and exercise. Good luck. Hang in there.

Okay, how much protein should we be intaking a day? How many calories? and... how many carb's??
I have reached a pleateu and need to snap out of it. I haven't been to the gym in almost 3 months so that definately wasn't helping. I went yesturday felt pretty good afterwards.8-l Was able to maintain same weights but was only able to do 3 miles on the bike instead of my 8 I had worked up to. I will get there again.
Thanks!!
