Good luck with your plastics Barbara!! I am going to be looking into plastics soon myself. I don't think I will get the insurance company to cover any of it, but I will try. Let us know what happens and how the process is. Good luck to you and congratulations on your succes!!! -118 -Renee

Thanks Mary. I'll probably do a few more half marathons before I look at doing a full. I'd just like to work on my speed some more so I'm not running for 5 hours doing a full marathon. Although I'm in pretty good shape, I know I'm capable of doing much better. It's just going to take some time and more intense training. My ultimate goal of all time would be to complete an ironman triathlon. It's going to be a few years before I'm able to do that, but the day will come when I'm ready for it. Linn

Congratulations!!!!!!! What a fantastic accomplishment!!! Are you planning to do more marathons? A couple of people from the CA board went to Hawaii in December for a marathon there. They really enjoyed it. Mary

I heard a PS speak at a local WLS support group meeting and he did a lot of the lift where you are cut all the way around the middle and the skin is pulled up. Not sure if that is what you are referring to. It was very interesting and the results were amazing. I have 50 more lbs to go. Not sure if I will look into plastic surgery or not. Yes, I have saggy skin but at this point it only matters once in a while to me. I may feel differently 50 lbs from now. Wishing you the best in your journey. Hope you find a surgeon you really like. Topic: half marathon completed!
Hi All, I just wanted to let those of you who keep track know that I DID, in fact, survive the half marathon. My chip time ended up being 2 hr 23 min 27 sec and I finished in the top 39% of all entrants! There were over 18,000 people at the start, and it ended up being a beautiful day to run. It sure was a lot of fun. I wasn't as fast as I would have liked, but I ended up standing in line for a potty twice (had cramps and was afraid I'd need to have a BM). I was so thankful that there were potty stops along the race even though it turned out that I was too tense to use them. The post about plastics reminded me of one other thing. I did end up with sores under my breasts. I've got to take care of that loose skin and deflated boobs here pretty soon. I'm still not healed yet, and I'm very tired of getting sores there when the benefits of the running are so wonderful for me. So... it's time to start making plans to get that taken care of. I did have my hubby take pictures, so hopefully that will help. Take care all, and thank you for sharing in my accomplishments! Linn

Well, I've finally done it. I called my plastic surgeon (he happens to be my RNY doctor's son - how convenient) and scheduled my consultation. I have lost a total of 99 pounds so far - started at 274, now at 175, have gone from a size 28 to a 12. I exercise at the gym 4-5 days per week, and have been since last March. I have a hernia, which I am hoping will get me my approval for at least the abdominoplasty - but I want to ask how much extra I would have to pay for the full body lift. Has anyone else started thinking of plastics yet? Barb

Just had a look at your profile, and you are looking great!. one thing tho... have a look at the numbers that you have put under your pics. I know its hard to break old habbits but there is no way you weigh over 300 lbs in that second picture. Take Care. Lee

Jill, Thank you. I started on the workbook one (Magic Pill) last night. It is very interesting and I am doing the workbook/lesson part as I go along. It is causing to really stop and reflect. I think it will be helpful. I got my DVDs of Richard Simmons thru home shopping network on line. I just checked and they still have a few of his left and the items are on sale (1/2 price) and both have free shipping still. One set has a VHS tape and another the DVD. I have both. Also got (but now sold out) a set of 5 of the blast off DVDs for $15 from them with free shipping. You can find the ones available by going to hsn.com and doing a search on Richard Simmons. Mary
