Not only did i have to buy a coat, i bought thermal underwear and thermal shirts and wear them!! I used to keep my house at 45 degrees and wear a sweater as a coat. My hubby comes from England and was used to bundling up, thank goodness. but this year he laughs at me. We have turned the heat up but not only do i freeze i get the shivers i am so cold. kelly

Delainya, I am sure most of us have had a similar experience. A couple of months ago we went out to eat and there was absolutely nothing on the menu I could eat except for shrimp which of course was fried, all the rest was beef (which I haven't eaten at all since surgery). Well, I decided since regular shrimp was so easy for me to eat that just this once would be OK. I ate 3 pieces and a couple of fries. Never got sick, but oh my did my tummy regret it for hours. It was just too much grease for me. Now I may eat a bite if Hal get fried shrimp but absolutely no more than that. Grilled shrimp for me. I definitely made a bad choice that day, but got back on track as I know you will too. WOW, you are really close to your goal weight too. How awesome. Congratulations. Mary 305/180/125???

I haven't been to the movies in over 18 years!!!! The last movie I saw at the theatre was Grease. I have heard so many wonderful reviews of this movie. I would love to see it. We won free movie passes a few months ago at a construction meeting for our new home. Hmmmmm, maybe this will be the movie we will go see. Also want to see the Barbra Streisand movie too. Wanda, Thank you so much. I agree I was and am basically a happy person. I've had my moments, like everyone, where my weight really weighed me done emotionally. Now I really am happy with me. I truly feel blessed to have had this surgery and to now be so healthy. Other blessings in my life too, especially my husband, Hal. You are right, I definitely will get LOTS more exercise once we move into the new house. Right now I'm getting LOTS of exercise shopping and searching for all the things we "think" we might need before making any purchases. So much fun. Mary

Has anyone just said "bump it" and ate what ever they felt like?? Well I did today, at 11 months out I ate fried food for the first time today since my surgery. Boy, my stomach is paying for it. (and everyone in my office) I had fried catfish and fried shrimp. I blew my calorie, fat and carb counts for the day!! My totals are: Calories 1158 Fat 64 carbs 68 Protein 68 Just figured I'd share.. Trust me it will be a long while before I touch those fried foods again. Delainya 321/171/150

Went to see the movie The Phantom of the Opera today. Has anybody seen it yet? If not, GO! I've seen a live performance of it at a local theatre here in Memphis, so almost didn't go to see the movie. It was great! It was one of those movies that when it ends, no one moves and you can hear a pin drop. So moving! It received bad reviews here by our local critic and is only being shown at one theater. Glad I went. Wanda 256/182/145

Congratulations, Linn! I am so in awe of you! You have really worked hard to be able to accomplish this. And to finish in the top 39% is very impressive! Keep up the good work. Wanda

Mary, You look fantastic! The first time I read your profile, I could tell you are a very happy person..... beautiful on the inside and out. Like you, I don't think I ever realized just how big I had gotten. When I look at pictures of myself before the surgery, I just can't believe it. And like you, I don't really see myself as small now, even though people make comments about how much smaller I am now. Some days, I still feel big. You are doing wonderfully! Richard Simmons is just getting you ready for all the exercise you're going to get when you move into that new home! Wishing you the best of everything! Wanda

Topic: RE: PROFILE RAMBLINGS~EATING
Hi Joanne, I often feel so many of the emotions that you have expressed. Although this surgery has been a "success" to everyone around me, I still feel like a failure. Somedays I delibrately sabotage myself, with no explanation why. I, like you, am 11 months out and I have lost 118 pounds, strictly by the grace of God, because the lord knows that I eat whatever I want whenever I want it. I dont know why we do the things that we do, but rest assured, you are not alone, this will be a neverending journey for us. I wish everyone continued success, tomorrow is another opportunity to start again. -118 -Renee
