Topic: RE: Poll: How much sleep do you get?
Thanks for replying, everyone. Looks like I may get more sleep than most everybody else. I've always cherished my sleep and feel blessed that I can sleep throughout the night (most of the time....especially since my husband was put on a C-pap machine for sleep apnea!). I hate to admit it, but laying down at the end of the day is one of my most favorite times of the day. Everyone take care. Wanda

Sarah, Good to hear from you. Sounds like you are enjoying life and that things are going well. Please make a firm commitment to the protein and water, they are so important in our journey. How about packing a couple of protein bars in your purse for the days you too little protein. That's what I do, so I always have them in case I'm in a situation of no choices or not being able to eat when I should. I, too, have been losing very slowly the last couple of months. Feel some of it is because I am eating carbs a little more than I should. I think it is pretty common too to feel scared, but remember you have the power to stay in control and we are all winning this battle with the help of our "tool" -- the new tummy. Mary

Topic: RE: surgery date
Pamela, Congratulations on getting a date for surgery. There is a surgery message board for those who are going to have surgery in Feb 2005. Here's the link. http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/surgdate-forums/02-2005/ The board that you posted to is filled with people who had surgery 1 year ago. It is really great to be able to share with other individuals who have had surgery in the same time frame so you might find that group extremely helpful to you. Wishing you the best. Mary

your doctor should give you some guidelines on how to prepare and what you should and should not do before surgery. For the 4 days I was in the hospital after lap RNY - I did nothing. I took magazines, maybe read 2 or 3. I stayed in my pajamas and brought my robe from home, because I was cold. take a pillow and a warm blanket if you think you'll need them. I was unable to do much. good luck Denise

Topic: long time gone...
Hello Everyone!! It has been at least 2 months since I have posted or responded to this board and I have to tell you I miss you! I finally got that boyfriend I so longingly hoped for all those years and we keep each other quite busy. Its been almost 4 months and we are in love and pretty serious about each other. Hes gonna help me get a pic up here since, ya know, its been almost a yr. I am working at a decent job as a medical coder and they love me and I have great potential to move up in the company. I am in post training and almost ready to be released from that. I was riding for awhile ( my ultimate goal with the weight loss) but I had to stop because it just got to be so expensive with all my grown up bills. :- ( Dont worry I will get back to it soon. I see a hugh correlation between having money issues/streee me the freak out and my eating. When I am not worried about $, I dont graze, I make right choices and get all my fluids. When I am, I make such bad choices, dont get all my protein, and dont get all my water. I had a setback after christmas and put on like 3 lbs :- o but its off now. My weight loss is incredibly slow and I only assume its because of my lack of protein and water at least 2 days a week. I do start the day with a protein shake but when its a bad day its a bad day. I also think I am eating way more than I probably am. Its just way more than I used to be able and I get scared. Anyways, I just wanted to update you all and tell you I miss you and I will be around much more from now one. How is everyone else doing???? sarah
