Debbie, It would be hard to have them take photos for me too. The transformation after surgery tho will be awesome. Do you already have insurance approval or do you have to go thru that process still? Good luck. Mary

Lisa, I'm glad you brought this up because I've noticed I've been having bad gas here lately also. It looks like you've gotten some great advice that I will take heed to also. I hope you're okay. I think I can attribute mine to mixing my protein shakes with carb countdown instead of soy milk here lately. Wanda

I am so excited for you Debbie. It sounds like you got the most embarrasing part over with. Do you know when you'll have your surgery? Wanda

Topic: RE: Anyone have plastic surgery yet?
Debbie, I'll get my first consult in June. I'm hoping for both a tt and a boob job. I do get sores under my breasts when I run, and I'm hoping to justify the belly by the upper back and neck pain from all the bounce. My whole front bounces when I run. I don't have sores under my tummy, but the skin sure is loose. I've heard you're supposed to do the tummy first and then the boobs so the boobs don't get ruined. I'm hoping insurance will cover both or I'll have to pay for the tummy myself first. That'll be tough so it may take a while. Three more months, though, and I'll have more answers. Linn

Lisa, If you are lactose intolerant, it can cause major gas problems. Try avoiding milk/dairy products including cottage cheese, cheese, yogurt, whey, butter, margarine, milk, and see if you feel better. Some people with lactose intolerance can handle some cheeses and yogurt but I was one of those that could not. I had lactose intolerance years ago. Many protein drinks and bars are Whey based, so if you are drinking those switch over to soy based when you try eliminating the dairy products. Whey is a milk deriative. Are you taking any meds that have whey in them? At the time I had lactose intolerance they had me taking some over the counter med for my tummy ... what a shock when I read the ingredients and discovered Whey in them. Also so many of the low carb items on the market today are loaded with sugar alcohols. Sugar alcohols can definitely cause gas as well as diahhrea. I'm super sensitive to them even in small dosages. Unfortunately the bad gas can be a result of the surgery ... not sure why. I copy into a folder tips etc I have found along the way. Here is one on the gas odor that may be of help to you... I'm NOT endorsing the product just posting the comments made by another post op: "While surfing the net last month I came across articles written by a surgeon in TN doing these procedures and he actually addressed these problems and suggested a solution!! I'm not endorsing or advertising, however, if you are experiencing malodorous stools and excess gas you might want to give it a try. It worked for me. It's an OTC capsule called DEVROM. You can order it directly from Parthenon 1-800-453-8898 at a cost of $10.24/100 capsules, $58.50/600 or $114.60/1200. I take 2 after each meal - a very small price to feel totally comfortable around people and public bathrooms!" You could do a search on google.com for Devrom. It may be something that even GNC would carry. Hope you find answers and solutions soon. Mary

Debbie, I was going to respond to this, but your posting sounds just like me...right down to the lactaid milk. And ice cream is out of the question. I tried a little again last night and was desperately ill in a little over 30 minutes. Gas pills don't help much. I had gotten some Devrom (I think it's called) which is supposed to be an internal odor eliminator. Colonoscopy patients use it. I never used it because it got better, but I may have to give it a try. Julie

I hate to say this, but I dont know if it was distal or proximal. All I know is I had a Laporostic Gastro-By-Pass done. I can't drink milk either, which I love..... Yes, I've tryed all the gas pills on the market. Next, I have to see a Nutritionist. Thanks for the response.

Topic: Plastic Surgery Consult...
Well, I had my consult yesterday. I don't think I have any modesty left. I could never be a nude model. I don't even let my husband see this slab of fat and skin. It is an out of body experience when someone has to lift it up and manipulate it. Yikes! Then comes the nude pictures. Sigh... I'm just glad that part is over. All in all, he says I should get very good results, but any weight I can loose before my surgery is a plus. I don't have to loose any, but it will enable him to tighten my muscles better. I asked him about how much he will remove, and he said not nearly as much as I think. I told him it feels like it weighs a ton. He said it is because it is hanging and it is attached and pulling. He thought he might lipo about 500cc's - 1000cc's of fat from the upper abdomen, and then take off 2 to 3lbs off the lower abdomen. He said I might have another 1-2lbs. with the uterus and fibroid, so added together 3- 7lbs. I'm really going to try to loose at least 5 to 7 lbs by surgery time. Debbie
