Topic: RE: Question of the Day - Wednesday
I don't have a specific routine. I do try to get in 45 - 60 minutes of exercise at least 5 days a week. If its pretty outside, I walk on my lunch hour or in the evenings at home. If its not nice outside, I ride my stationary bike and Gazelle. I also do arm exercises each day with 3 lb weights. When the pool water is warm enough, I will start swimming.
I will have to confess that I have not been exercising they way I should for the past 3 or 4 weeks. I've been doing alot of yard work in the evenings and by the time I get settled, I'm too tired to do my exercising.
I so enjoy working in the yard!
BTW, Mary.... I have a question for the day. Can I have tomorrow?

Do you have a daily exercise routine?
I walk every day and have been swimming about 4 times a week. Once we are moved into our new home and the pool is finished, I will swim or work out in the pool at least once a day. Can't wait.

Topic: RE: Plastic Surgery
I have really looked into any type of PS at this point. I'm still 30 to 50 lbs away from having a normal BMI.
I have read about a lower body lift where they basically go all the way around a lift the tummy, buttocks etc. At our WLS support group meeting they had a plastic surgeon speak and he does the lower body lift quite often for WLS patient post-ops. Here's his website that explains the procedure (NOTE: There are detailed photos there also):

No idea on cost.

Debbie,
I looked at your profile and found we're almost the same age/same height.
I'm 46, 5'4" and now weigh 146 lbs. I think I'm done with weight loss as I've stayed right in this area since early January. I think it's a good weight; it feels good and I can generally wear a size 10; sometimes an 8.
That's small enough for me. I'm pretty big boned and my hands already look really boney (maybe I'm just used to seeing them puffy LOL!!!!)
Good luck with the plastic surgery consult. I'm really interested to hear how this group does as many on this website move into a new phase including additional surgery. I think I'm going to pass for now and see where I end up in a year or so after the skin has some time to continue tightening. What little skin problems I have are not enough to be bothersome or keep me from wearing what I wish, so I'm not eager to jump into more surgery. I'm a coward, I guess.
Good luck!

I'd love to know what it costs (and how it feels) to have the skin removed from the base of your derriere. My stomach isn't bad at all, but if I were going to have something done, it would be in the back. Fortunatley, I can keep that covered and pretty well concealed.

Me too. Today I'm wearing a bright red suit with white french cuffs and I love it! For spring, I've got things in hot pink, salmon, aqua and others. But I still find myself drifting towards bland clothes (blue/black/cream) and I have to remind myself that other people look great in bright colors and its okay for me to buy bright things. I guess it is mental conditioning.
Topic: Plastic Surgery
I had my first consult with a surgeon recomended by the surgeon who preformed my bypass. My stomach doesn't need a lot of work but it's totally covered by my insurance. On the other hand I have skin galore on my back side (thighs and butt) and it's not covered. The surgeon wants to try and lower the cost but he said it'll be expensive. I've lost 150 lbs to date and need to have skin removed. I'm worried I can't afford it. Is anyone else going through this?

Debbie,
I just checked your profile and WOW, it is lime green. I agree, it has to be your favorite color. Loved the photos on your profile. Really show your transformation. You look beautiful.

I don't post often--just read. But I'll have to chime in with lime green. It has always been my favorite & I guess it always will be. Even when I weighed 315--I still wore it.

Topic: RE: Question of the Day-Monday
My favorite bar WAS the EAS apple-cinnamon one (Advantedge I think they spelled it); they've replaced it in the multipack now with a caramel apple one; haven't tried it yet, but I'm probably not going to like it as well.
My surgeon wanted us to discontinue shakes/bars etc at 6 weeks post op; I still use the bars as meal replacements when I can't eat properly based on either what's available (including time
) or where I am.. I have some more shake samples, but have so far managed to avoid needing them, I think. I'm not closely monitoring the amount of protein I get in a day, but so far, my bloodwork has all been okay, and he does check the chemistries that would indicate a lack of protein.. So I'm somewhat assuming I have enough.. But it would be nice to know; I should probably do a sample measure and see what I actually am ending up with in a day.
