Yes, my taste have changed. I think I love carbs even more now.
I don't care for a lot of fat laden things anymore. I find I can eat a whole lot more now. Somedays I can eat a whole sandwhich. I do pull the crust off, and pinch here and there, but almost a whole sandwhich. Sigh...
I was addicted and I'm not using the word lightly to pistachio's and cinnamon discs, when I was anemic. I would go to WM even as late as 11pm to get some. I had to have them at my disposal. I can't even look at them now. (since my iron levels are up... I learned it was called pica) I don't drink anything bu****er and a small glass of orange juice.
I love hamburger steaks with onions. I probably make myself a patty at least once a week.
I have to watch the pringles. I try to get the new Lays dill pickle ones for the kids, because I don't like them.

Topic: Slim Fast low carb drinks?
I'm sitting here drinking a vanilla cream drink. The nutrition label breaks it down like this.
Calories 180
Total fat 9g (2g net fat)
Total Carbohydrate 4 g
fiber 2g
sugars 1g
sugar alcohol 0
other carbohydrate 1g
Protien 20g
lots of vitamins
Does this sound okay? I hope so, because I'm not a fan of protien drinks, but I think I can do this one. Let me know if you have tried this one, and if there is a better drink that is comparable in taste.
I'm really ticked, because I have gained 4lbs since March. I initially lost all of my gain that I had because of anemia, but it is coming back on. I really feel like it is the Lupron shots that is causing it. I'm in chemical menopause right now, until my hysterectomy. I can't afford to gain anymore weight. I'm suppose to loose all I can before my surgeries. Sigh... Anyone in menopause right now? Am I kidding myself about the weight gain being caused by the Lupron? I'm seeing my gyn Monday for another Lupron injection. (oh Joy!) I'll ask him these questions.
Thanks for listening,
Deb

Has your taste for food changed since surgery? If so, how.
My taste for food has changed greatly. One example is, I used to love to eat potato chips and french onion dip. I just don't enjoy it now at all. I do love to eat deli ham wrapped in swiss cheese and deli chicken slices wrapped in pepper jack cheese. The thought of eating anything greasy turns my stomach now.
How about you?

I need to be whipped with a wet noodle...I do nothing. I'm busy all of the time and have gone back to college, so when I'm not at work, I'm doing homework.
I did begin walking in the evenings a couple of nights ago, but then we got snow (Yes...I said snow!) again and it's been cold again this week.
You're so lucky to have your own pool; we used to and I miss it greatly.
I've tried the Y and it's okay, but it's tough to find a good time to go unless it's 9:00 pm at night and by them I'm wiped out.
I've got to do better....

Debbie,
My brother and his ex-wife both went thru the surgery before me. It was great to have them to encourage me on. I, too, love swimming. It's now warm enough here to swim outdoors. Can't wait till we are in our new house and the pool is finished. I plan to live in there this summer.
I feel really awkward at the gym, like the fish out of water (no pun intended especially after stating I planned to live in the pool this summer ... LOL). I guess if I had a great trainer, then maybe I would feel differently ... not sure.

I'm another slacker--it is not on a daily basis. It used to be. I got lazy over the winter. I own a daycare center, so I work 12 hour days. Now with daylight savings time & warmer weather, I am able to walk after work. My Mom, who had her gastric bypass last October walked with me today. We managed 3 1/3 miles. Just waiting on the pool water to warm--it will be swimming every day. WOOHOO!!! I have tried the Y & Curves--hated them both. I am not very good at organized exercising.

Sarah,
It is hard, none of us are perfect. Remember if time is an issue that any exercise is better than no exercise at all. Pre Surgery I could barely do anything. I could find time to watch TV, so made a deal with myself. If I watched tv I had to move/dance/exercise during the commercials. At first it was so hard, but soon it became fun and a challenge. Then I began doing more and more.

so I am going to be the bad one and say no I have no exercise routine. I have completely fallen out of mine and its terrible...I am such a slacker!! I am not going to give you any of my excuses because there is none for my laziness. I promise myself that tomorrow when I get home from work I Will go for a walk for at least 45 mins...Thank you for reminding me how important it is not to forget this!!

Isn't it amazing all the things (like yardwork) that we can now do!!!! It is such a wonderful change.
Absolutely, feel free to post the question of the day tomorrow. I'm hoping that we will get lots of volunteers for the questions. I just got the ball rolling on them.
