Mary,
I am so happy for you. Now you can relax a bit and get to know every inch of your home and POOL. It's such fun making a house a home...isn't it!
I know things didn't exactly happen as you planned. Since our moms died so close together I think of you often and hope you are handling the grief ok. You should take some comfort in the fact that you were attempting to make your mom's last years more comfortable and happy living with you and Hal.

So very happy for you Mary! I know this has been quite a long process for you. Have fun with/in the pool.

p.s. we should be in ours by the end of next week! Just finishing getting the financing worked out.
Topic: RE: one year younger
A year later, it feels fabulous.
I've lost 109 lbs and weigh the same thing I did when I got married 26 years ago, but I think I actually look a bit thinner.
I'm off all meds and feel wonderful. Blood pressure is very good and all my blood work is normal; the Dr. is delighted.
I can eat just about anything. Ice cream makes me very nauseous and sleepy so I just don't do it...maybe a bite now and then, but generally not. Also syrup from pancakes, etc...tastes good, feels rotten, so it's off my eating list. Everything else is fine. Sometimes chicken gets hung up, so I'm extraordinarily diligent about chewing it. All other meats go down really easy.
I think alot of my tastes have changed. My biggest cravings are for fresh fruits and I'm really excited that summer is here again so theyr'e plentiful. I find that most fast foods are too greasy for me now and I don't want them, even though I had been eating them before during the past year in limited quantities and tolerate them fine.
Hang in there...the best is yet to come.

Hi Wanda - I have to be very careful with soft pretzels and Dairy Queen. It's a good thing because I need to avoid those guys anyway.
Have a great day -

I'm like you, I can eat anything, but some sugars make me have mild dumping. (Mostly sweaty, and sleepy, sometimes loose stools and gas)
Pasta and rice are a space issue, but I still can eat some.

Haven't tried beef except for a bite. Can't tolerate lamb or pork no matter how it is cooked or how tender.
Have tried sugar, but in true moderation like a bite of Hal's dessert or 1/2 of a small cookie. I still "want/need" to believe that I will dump and I sure don't want to find out that I don't.

Hello Wanda,
I can pretty much eat anything I want. The only thing that gets to me is orange juice/oranges. I get so sick after I consume just a little.I use to love orange juice too.Milk also .I can drink it very slowly an only just a little without getting sick.
Take Care Trish

Are there any foods/liquids you cannot tolerate this far out?
None for me.... darn it! So far, I haven't found a thing I can't eat.
