Topic: RE: Sunday's Question of the Day
I can eat almost anything.... which is the bads news and the good news.
Too much ice cream makes me dump as well as orange juice first thing in the morning. I don't enjoy foods that are really greasy... but I do love bread and butter (fortunately, I can't eat very much of it). My best meals are still those that are protein forward with vegetables. I love fruit too!!! I didn't use to be much of a sugar person, but now it seems as though I love it.... so I keep it out of my house!!!

Hi Daisy
My surgery was Feb 11, 2004. I have lost 147 pounds. I weigh 134 pounds. I am off of all medications from acid reflux, asthma. My blood sugars and blood pressure are all normal. I feel great!! I can walk, move and I look great in clothing. I can eat just about anything I want, so I have to watch it. One year later life is really good. Best Wishes on your journey, it sounds like you are off to a great start -Michelle

Wanda
I take Vitalady's gentle iron and its just been great. My iron is coming back great in my blood tests. I haven't had any stomach upset which is what kept me from taking iron in the first place.
Hope that helps. Vitalady is vitalady.com

Topic: How much food are you eating?
Hi All
How much food are you all eating? Are you still losing weight? I can eat so much more than I could before that I want to be sure I am not overdoing it? Any thoughts? Thanks for your help. -Michelle
Topic: RE: 15 MONTHS OUT & STILL "LOSING"??
Some people have to add in carbs and calories to maintain their weight and stop losing. Try adding a few in, if still losing add a few more. It is a balance but doable for most.
If you continue to lose weight even with adding in carbs and more calories, definitely see your doctor/nutritionist.
Congratulations on your wonderful success.

Hi Alicia
I had my surgery on 2/11 and was 281 on the day of surgery and today I have also dropped 145 pounds!!! And I don't feel like my body is done yet but I am liking the way I look. I am hoping my body will stop at a natural point sometime soon. How tall are you?
I just thought it was an interesting coincidence that we have such similiar stats. Hopefully someone will have a good answer to your question.
Best Wishes

I know at least one other person that has this problem; but she's to the point of being WAY too skinny (medically, not just opinion). You have to fine tune the other way; add enough to maintain, but not gain, to your food list and 'habits' that you've developed.
It can be hard, from a few different standpoints -
1) most of us "don't want to gain it back", therefore may be hesitant to add food back into our diet.
2) You have to actually eat more, when you've trained your body AND head to not want more
3) You have to balance how much more you eat with exercise to make sure that you don't 'exercise it all off'
They say your body should stop about 24 months out, and adjust to the 'new process/guts' for most people.
But, there are always exceptions for every rule
Good luck

Topic: 15 MONTHS OUT & STILL "LOSING"??
I am simply amazed!! I really don't want to lose another pound because I am already well ~BELOW~ my goal weight already. Only to find that I have dropped another 5 POUNDS per my scale when I weighed this Saturday!! I weigh myself twice a month instead of every week when I was trying to goal! Question is when do you "STOP" losing weight?
Maybe I FINE TUNED MY TOOL too much!!

Topic: RE: Sunday's Question of the Day
Hi Wanda,
I still cannot tolerate any meat or chicken or eggs. No matter how long I chew, I still feel a yucky clump in my pouch. Plus the smell of cooking them is nauseating. Greasy things are a major dump. Unfortunately, no problems with sugar, but I have to keep sweets way out of sight. I was just looking at all the new Mother's Cookies and told my daughter that I would be well over 300 pounds now had I not had surgery. I cannot eat even one...ever.
