Topic: Feeling fat again
Hi guys, I've been thinking the past few days that maybe I should be getting 10-15 more pounds off. I'm really good at the maintenance thing by now, but pretty sure I can remove some snacks and get the scale moving in the neg direction again if I put my mind to it. The reason I started thinking about this, though, is that I'm starting to feel fat again. The scale isn't moving up or anything, but all I seem to see these days is the flab I have left on my belly. I guess I'm really just wondering if any of you are having the same sorts of brain struggles as I am. I know I wear a size 6 jeans, but that doesn't seem to make any difference. All I see is the stuff I want gone. That may improve after PS, but at this point I'm going to have to wait until late Jan or early Feb to do that so my mom can do the half marathon race with me this coming Jan. The soonest I could even get in to have the PS would be October of this year, and that wouldn't leave me enough time to train for the race. So... Anyone in this mindset with me? Just me, thinking out loud again (on the keyboard/screen). Linn

Had a fantastic weekend. Had company all weekend and yesterday 12 of us (6 had WLS and their significant others/spouses) all were here for a barbecue and pool party. What fun to share stories of our experiences. I hated to see everyone leave last night. Sounds like you had a great weekend too. Mary

Hi, Annette Sounds like you had a great time this weekend! Family reunions can be so much fun. I started my weekend off going to a comedy club with some friends Friday night. Saturday... my oldest daughter and I went thrift store browsing (bought absolutely nothing but had fun!). Sunday... visited my mother-in-law who fed us delicious roast beef. I normally try to swim weekends, but it rained here off and on both Saturday and Sunday. Of course, its BEAUTIFUL today~!!!!~.... as I sit here at my desk . Wanda

Hey everyone. How was your weekend? I went to my family reunion and had a ball, we were at a park and it was so nice. I look forward to it each year. It rained on us a little this year but my husband and I saw rain in the forecast and we took our water shoes to the park and it didn't spoil our fun. Our kids were so tired when we got home they went straight to bed. What did you do this weekend? Annette 291/157

Well I'm glad it's over for you...I know how awful that can feel. But you may be like Linn and I as far as sugar goes. I, too, can tolerate more real sugar than I can sugar alcohols. Sugar alcohols make me very ill and I avoide everything sugar-free unless it's Splenda and even then I'm very cautious. If I crave something sweet, I just go ahead and eat a bit of real chocolate and I'm fine. Julie

Wanda, It has been a busy, but wonderful summer. We love it here in AZ and have no regrets about moving. The popsicles were sugar free ... so what I think I dumped on was the 2 grams of sorbital which is a sugar alcohol. I'm super sensitive to sugar alcohols, but had no problem with these popsicles UNTIL I two in a row. Within minutes I was sick. Was a good experience tho as now I don't want to tempt the fates at all, I'm totally convinced that if it had been a high sugar item I would of been far worse off and it has shown me that I truly dump. Delainya, I'm so thrilled for you and wishing you the best with your PS. I have next to zilch knowledge about plastic surgery, so I can't help you there. Just want you to know my thoughts are with you. Please let us know when your surgery is scheduled and how you're doing! BTW: You look great!!!! Wanda

Its so good to hear from you Mary! I figure you've been real busy this summer with the new house, new pool and visitors. I have been missing you here lately! Its so strange how different our bodies react to different foods. I have absolutely no problems with anything.... so far. Who knows how my body will react in the future. I hate to hear about the horrible episode you went through. I bet that did scare both you and Hal! I'm glad you made it though it okay. I dumped occasionally at the beginning, but now everything seems to be fine. I haven't really tried anything that I think would cause me to dump. It sounds like you're really careful about what you eat... who would have ever throught something with only 2 grams of sugar would make you dump? Hope your bbq goes well this weekend and the weather cooperates! Please, keep us posted. Wanda

Well... it IS a rant, and she CAN be pretty blunt and tell you what she thinks without sugar-coating (which I actually like, because it makes me think )... I think she's just met one too many people who BY CHOICE don't do what they know they should do... I hope the rant reaches them... Take care, Angie http://www.geocities.com/tiger_angie
