How is everyone doing today? Any Plans? We have good friends coming over for lunch today. Thought we would do Chinese food since it is Chinese New Year. Since getting back from the cruise, I have been working to stay on track and exercise too. Doing good so far. Trying not to eat white flour, just whole grains ... eating sweet potatoes instead of regular etc (low glycemic foods). Hal bought baked cheetos the other day. They were just too good and a definite trigger food. So he let me dump them. (what a sweetie). Mary

Hi Mary! I just love Chinese food! Did you cook it yourself? For some reason, I can't seem to cook Chinese food to taste as good as it does when getting it in a restaurant. This weekend was a blur for me (they usually are!). The girls and I went shopping Saturday and Mark and I went to a party Saturday evening. I'm so sore... I danced all evening and could hardly move yesterday. Dancing must be good exercise, because I think I used muscles I haven't used in a LONG time!!! I've decided to try to pretty much stick to the "plateau buster" plan you posted the other day. I don't want to go on a "diet" per se, but plan to eat mostly what is on that plan each day. I'm going to the grocery this evening and have decided not to bring one thing into the house that I know will trigger snacking. Unfortunately, I don't dump on anything anymore.... Have a great week! Wanda, We went to a nice local Chinese restaurant. Only $4.50 each for a complete meal and it was soooooo good. I've never done Chinese myself except from a can or the mix for Egg Foo Young which I use to love to make. Just easier to go out and you are right, it does taste better too. I have heard many on the UCLA list state that when they went back to the basics, that the dumping syndrome seem to be triggered again. It took 3 weeks of basics tho to do it. Then after the 3 weeks, DON'T even try sugar to see. Keep telling yourself it will make you sick. I know that I can dump and had it happen once by accident (didn't realize something has sugar added to it) and never want to go thru that again. Any way tho, I remind myself often that sugar will make me sick. I think the more my brains hears it the more reinforced it gets. It also keeps me from trying more than a bite of any sugar item. Know you will do well. Keep us posted. Mary

Hi Mary - and everyone!!!! I've been busy these last few months, but I still check in here daily. I'm with Wanda, I love Chinese food...I don't dare try to cook it, but love to eat the stuff. Things in my life are good. Today I am 36 weeks pregnant and am due to have my son via c-section on February 22. We are very excited and nervous and anxious and scared all at the same time. Our four year old daughter is not so sure that this baby "is going to be a good thing", we're working with her... I need to get organized and focused and I'm feeling some nesting insticts pretty distinctly now adays. I still don't have a name for this baby and I am stressing a little bit. Well, I'm stressing a lot. Hoping everyone is well and loving life and behaving. Denise

Denise, What an exciting time for you and your family. Do you know if you are having a boy or a girl? Picking a name has to be difficult. When I was born my mom's doctor highly recommended that when they brought me home from the hospital that they also bring my sister a baby doll at the same time. That way when mom was taking care of me, my sister could be doing the same thing with her "baby". Mary

Denise, I've been thinking of you here lately and wondering how you are doing. I'm so glad you posted! My oldest daughter will be 21 on the 8th of February, but she was due Feb 22. She came (as did my youngest daughter) two weeks early and during a horrible ice storm (which is a MAJOR thing here in west Tennessee). We did not have a name for Maggie (youngest****il three days after she was born. Mark and I just couldn't come up with a name until we saw her.... and the name Maggie fits her to a T. Leah, our oldest, wasn't sure about her baby sibling's arrival either, but once we brought Maggie home, Leah was an angel and loved her "Mary Margaret" so much! I wish you well on the delivery of your son! Please keep us posted on how you and your family are doing!! Wanda
