Hello Dana, Taking "water pills" is one option, however you probably need to talk to your doctor before taking these. I had a doctor tell me years ago (when I was pregnant with my 21 year old) that drinking water will take fluids off your body. Believe it or not, it works! Do you get enough water in each day? Also, it is my understanding that we are not to take NSAIDS (anti-inflammatories), whi*****ludes ibuprofen. This is also something you should probably run by your doctor. I have had no problems taking acetaminophen. Wanda

Cut back on carb consumption ... carbs can cause water retention as does salt/sodium in the food we eat. Are you drinking enough fluids? If you aren't, that can cause water retention too. No anti-inflammatories or aspirin products after WLS. The only one I take is Tylenol. Mary

Dana, Just checked .... acetaminophen & Tylenol are the same thing. Here's a list of off-limits medications: uclabariatrics.mednet.ucla.edu/recovery/recovery_discharge_offlimitmed.htm (add http://www. to the beginning) Mary
