Do you count calories?

I've been reading one of the other boards (grads) here lately and notice that alot of people over there count their calories. I don't count mine and wonder if any February04 people do, and if you do or don't, why. I don't because I just don't want to mess with it. I probably should since I've put about 6 pounds back on in the last two months. I've attributed that to the holidays and am getting back to my regular routine. I've lost about 3 of those pounds gained since I've gotten back to normal. Wanda

Wanda, If you normally do a high protein/low carb diet and ate more carbs during the holidays that can account for the weight gain. Carbs cause us to retain fluids so going back to high protein/low carbs, the gain should come off immediately. I don't count calories. I do watch protein grams tho and also fluid intake. No other counting for me at this point. Mary

Mary, I definitely ate more carbs during the holidays. I've gotten back to high protein/low carb. That's probably why I lost 3 pounds fairly quickly. I do the same as you. Watch protein grams and fluid intake. Thanks........Wanda

I don't count calories. We are required to only count the protein with low or no carbs. Happy Friday! Shirley
