Hi, I started zoloft about 3 weeks ago for anxiety. I have always suffered from anxiety/panic attacks and finally I decided to get on medication which I have been avoiding like the plague. Anyways, now I have gained 5 pounds in leiu of working out 5 days a week. Sure, my diet hasn't been the best and I could use to drink a little more water, but my diet hasn't changed since the weight gain occurred...it's only been since the Zoloft. I am taking 50 mg once per day. I feel sleepy, tired all the time and feel some increased nervousness and teeth clenching. These apparantly are normal side effects during the adjustment period. This is my 4th week and I am thinking of stopping it. I dont know what to do because i want to ease my anxiety but so far this is just causing more problems....HELP

Heidi I just sent you a link to an article about Zoloft and possibly weight gain. ( netnutritionist.com/fa12.htm ) Definitely don't stop the medication without talking to your doctor. See if you can turn things around too by watching what you eat and exercising. Also discuss with your doctor the other symptoms you are having. There has to be some answers to help you. Mary
