I've been thinking about Debbie (DK) here lately and wondering how she is doing. She had surgery on the 9th. Anybody heard from her? Wanda

Hey Wanda, Thanks for asking. I'm here and donig fairly well. I will tell all of you the truth, it isn't a walk in the park. I did have two major surgeries and I don't know which one hurts worse. I'm off all my pain meds except one loratab before bed. I have seen my plastic surgeon 3 times since I was released on the 11th of June and will see my gyn next mon. I'm having a few issues with some tissue below my relocated bb. It will take awhile longer to heal, because it doesn't have as much blood flow. He could not take another centimeter without it dying, so I'll listen to his instructions and hope all turns out well. My plastic surgeon removed 7 lbs of skin and fat. He had no idea that it would be that much. My gyn removed 1 to 2 lbs from the fibroid and uterus. (I'm guessing that, I'll find out for sure Mon) He said my fibroid was the size of a small canteloupe. How in the world do we walk around with those inside and not know it? I didn't loose much blood at all during either surgery. I feel really blessed to be alive. I'm eating like crazy, but loosing weight. Benian said my body is working it's rear off trying to heal. I'm down 15lbs since the 9th. I'm 5lbs from my goal, and still 10 from my surgeon. Thanks again for asking. I'll post more, when it doesn't hurt so much to sit. Debbie

I'm sorry it's been difficult, but I'm soooo glad to hear from you and to find that things are good. Thanks for sharing so transparently for us in case we ultimately want to do something similar. Maybe you'll find that the anemia, etc. will all be better now that they've addressed the fibroid issue. I sure hope so. God is good and you'll be up and feeling wonderful soon. I know it's a side issue, but congratulations on the weight loss! You'll probably be below goal soon, but please be careful and eat right. We'd rather have you healthy than too thin! We love you! Thanks for posting. I'd been wondering how you were doing as well. As I was looking through the info the surgeon I saw gave me, it's almost nothing to have the boobs taken care of (which insurance will probably cover for me), the tummy stuff is much more complex and has a much longer healing time (and more painful). I saw a lady going in for her 1-week post-op visit after the tummy tuck and she looked pretty miserable still. Keep us posted on how you're feeling. Glad you got the nasty fibroid taken care of. Linn

Hi Debbie, Thanks for letting us know how you are. I too was wondering and praying that your surgeries went smoothly. Way to go on the weight loss. It's your prize for all that pain!! You'll be at goal before you know it. I bet your belly is looking great. Take care. Don't be shy with the pain meds. No need to be in pain. Warmly, Paula

I'm so glad you made it through it okay! I know you must be so sore and tired from these surgeries. I've heard plastic surgery is very painful and had hoped you weren't in too much pain. I bet you were shocked to find out your tumor was the size of a small cantalope! Thanks for letting us know. You (as well as everyone on this board) are very dear to me! BTW: Yeah for the 15 pound loss and more to come!! Take care of yourself and please do let us know how you are doing. Wanda
