Just wanted to let you all know that I'll be on a little vacation starting tomorrow. Didn't want you to think I had fallen off the face of the earth. Mark and I are going on a 4 day mini-vacation to Mountain Home, Arkansas for our 23rd anniversary. We're taking the boat and are planning on doing some serious fishing. I CAN'T WAIT!!! Everyone, have a great weekend! Wanda

Hi Wanda, I want to wish you a very happy anniversary. 23 years is wonderful, I so envy couples who made it together. Much love and happiness. I pray that you and Mark have many more happy, and healthy years ahead together. Enjoy your mini trip and each other. Love, Paula

Thanks, Paula. He is truly a gem! We do have our moments though, as I guess every couple does. We've just learned how to overlook each others moments (or just grown to ignore them!).

I'm envious! My husband would love to do that. I hope we can do some mini vacations like that in the near future. My health and weight stopped me before, and now it is time. Sigh.... Have a great time. Catch some fish for me. BTW what type fish are you going to be fishing for? Debbie

Hey, Debbie. You'll be mini-vacationing before you know it. We had to make the plans and STICK TO THEM. Thats the hard part. I like to fish for bream (small in size but put up a BIG fight) and crappie. Mark likes to fish for bass. I'll be content even if we don't get a bite....

Crappie is probably my favorite fresh water fish to eat. Have you ever tried to catch garr (sp)? Ugly fish, but fun to *try* to catch. I don't think you can eat them. Debbie

That sounds great! Our boat motor is toast and we've not gotten it fixed for the last 3 years because we were busy paying college bills, etc. for the kids, but I'm going to really push this summer to buy a new motor and get it back on the water. I'm not a big fisher-person, but I'm married to one. If I could just find a way to develop some perfumes like "eau de trout" or "classy bass", I might be able to compete. Generally, he goes North to Minnesota for a week in late fall, and north to his family's cabin (woodstove/outhouse/etc.) in Northern Michigan several times a year to get his fishing fix, but I just suggested last week that we look at going south to fish this fall. Maybe I should have him look into Mountain Home. As it is, I just take a good book and lay in the front end of the boat (which is ski boat with live wells and fishing chairs..so it serves dual purpose) and admire what he catches. You're right about just scheduling it and making it happen. When I try to wait until we have a free weekend, it just never fits in. There's always something happening at church or with the kids that keeps us here. Have a great time!
