Do you have a daily exercise routine? I walk every day and have been swimming about 4 times a week. Once we are moved into our new home and the pool is finished, I will swim or work out in the pool at least once a day. Can't wait. Mary

I don't have a specific routine. I do try to get in 45 - 60 minutes of exercise at least 5 days a week. If its pretty outside, I walk on my lunch hour or in the evenings at home. If its not nice outside, I ride my stationary bike and Gazelle. I also do arm exercises each day with 3 lb weights. When the pool water is warm enough, I will start swimming. I will have to confess that I have not been exercising they way I should for the past 3 or 4 weeks. I've been doing alot of yard work in the evenings and by the time I get settled, I'm too tired to do my exercising. I so enjoy working in the yard! BTW, Mary.... I have a question for the day. Can I have tomorrow? Wanda

Isn't it amazing all the things (like yardwork) that we can now do!!!! It is such a wonderful change. Absolutely, feel free to post the question of the day tomorrow. I'm hoping that we will get lots of volunteers for the questions. I just got the ball rolling on them. Mary

so I am going to be the bad one and say no I have no exercise routine. I have completely fallen out of mine and its terrible...I am such a slacker!! I am not going to give you any of my excuses because there is none for my laziness. I promise myself that tomorrow when I get home from work I Will go for a walk for at least 45 mins...Thank you for reminding me how important it is not to forget this!! sarah

Sarah, It is hard, none of us are perfect. Remember if time is an issue that any exercise is better than no exercise at all. Pre Surgery I could barely do anything. I could find time to watch TV, so made a deal with myself. If I watched tv I had to move/dance/exercise during the commercials. At first it was so hard, but soon it became fun and a challenge. Then I began doing more and more. Mary

I'm another slacker--it is not on a daily basis. It used to be. I got lazy over the winter. I own a daycare center, so I work 12 hour days. Now with daylight savings time & warmer weather, I am able to walk after work. My Mom, who had her gastric bypass last October walked with me today. We managed 3 1/3 miles. Just waiting on the pool water to warm--it will be swimming every day. WOOHOO!!! I have tried the Y & Curves--hated them both. I am not very good at organized exercising. Debbie, My brother and his ex-wife both went thru the surgery before me. It was great to have them to encourage me on. I, too, love swimming. It's now warm enough here to swim outdoors. Can't wait till we are in our new house and the pool is finished. I plan to live in there this summer. I feel really awkward at the gym, like the fish out of water (no pun intended especially after stating I planned to live in the pool this summer ... LOL). I guess if I had a great trainer, then maybe I would feel differently ... not sure. Mary

I need to be whipped with a wet noodle...I do nothing. I'm busy all of the time and have gone back to college, so when I'm not at work, I'm doing homework. I did begin walking in the evenings a couple of nights ago, but then we got snow (Yes...I said snow!) again and it's been cold again this week. You're so lucky to have your own pool; we used to and I miss it greatly. I've tried the Y and it's okay, but it's tough to find a good time to go unless it's 9:00 pm at night and by them I'm wiped out. I've got to do better....

Snow, did you say snow!!!! Oh my gosh. We started using the outdoor pool here last week. It's been in the 80s and 90s already. Each of us needs to find an exercise that we like and liking it makes it easier to do/accomplish on a regular basis. I do like the stationary bike, swimming, walking, and dancing. So have a few choices that work for me. It does sound like you have quite a busy schedule. Mary
