With deepest thanks!!!
Just a quick note to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It means so much to know so many caring people.
We are doing pretty good. Moments of ups and downs, but overall doing good. Hal and I shared memories today about things my mom said or did and that made me smile. tonight I bought a dozen yellow roses and have them sitting just a few feet away. They are her favorite flower and they remind me of her.
Thanks again,
Mary
Hi Mary,
I'm glad to hear you are doing well. Relating memories is such an uplifting thing to do -isn't it. My daughter and I live together and this past month she has learned so much about my life at home as a child -all the mundane day to day things that I now cherish. She has known all about the unhappiness and the happy times. Now she can imagine me as a kid or teen doing all kinds of ordinary things with my parents.
Mary, what a great idea that you bought your mom's favorite roses to feel her close by. I'm going to do that tonight!
Warmly,
Paula
Wow! My mom's favorites were yellow roses too. She use to say that red ones were too common and liked something different. We planted a yellow rose bush for my mom and a pink one for Dan's mom (her favorite). I hope they survived the winter.
I am planning on planting a sugar maple for her since she loved the bright yellow leaves in the fall. God, I miss her.
