Anyone have plastic surgery yet?

I'm curious if anyone on our Feb. board has had any procedures yet. I am going to have a Full TT in June along with my hysterectomy. I will see my plastic surgeon Wed. afternoon for my consult. I'm really anxious to see what he says. Debbie

Debbie, Wishing you the best .... I'm not sure what I will do in reagards to PS. I still have some weight to lose 30 to 50 lbs before I decide. Some days I say NO way, other days it is a big maybe. Mary

Thanks Mary, and yes it is a personal decision we all have to make. I have been needing/wanting a TT since the birth of my 3rd son, and that was nearly 14 years ago, so you know what condition my skin on my abdomen is like after 5 pregnancies and then becoming obese. Yikes! Debbie

At this point, I don't think I'll have to have a TT. The skin is loose, but not hanging at all. If I decide to have anything done, it would be a boob job...not bigger, just up! Keep us up to date on how it goes. I hope you have a really good experience. Julie

Girl, You must thank your parents for your genes! If I only had loose skin and not an apron, I would save my cash and buy a new leather den set. LOL The boobs are what I will address in the years to come. I do NOT want implants and I am researching lifts. I think I will be really happy with that. I'm not wanting to be 19 again, just not 90 yet. Debbie

Debbie - I have thoughts of a TT, but still think I am going to try to lose another 50 pounds. My boobs have gone south and they are not coming back. It's a sad, sad display. - so I'm with you, Julie. Denise

I'll have to remember to thank them. But remember I didn't have 5 kids (just two and two miscarriages) and I haven't been obese all of my life. I only hit 200 lbs. about 15 years ago and if I'm recalling correctly, the length of time you were obese also effects whether your skin will or won't snap back. I actually bought my first 2 piece bathing suit this year at my husband's request. It's high waisted since my skin looks about one size too big and bikini bottoms are out of the question (too much spillage/ooze-over). It WAS a trip trying to find a bikini top with enough support (and material) to hoist droopy boobs enough to make them look good (sometimes I laughed out loud in the dressing room..horrible!) but if you shop long enough, you can find anything. I probably will not wear it with anyone but him, but hey...it's a start. I'm with you regarding implants. While I'd like to have decent boobs (I never did...even when I was thin), I'm extremely leary of implants and just can't get comfortable with the idea. Too many risks. I'd be satisfied with smaller and pointing in an appropriate direction. Let me know how the appointment goes. I could always change my mind, but I'd have to pay for it. There's no reason for the insurance company to pay for it and I'd not ask them. Insurance is bad enough without asking them to cover unnecessary (for me) cosmetic touch ups. Fondly, Julie

A two piece, Wow! I just don't know. I have been scouring the internet and any catalogs I can find that have underwire swimsuit tops(tankini), and cover the tummy as well. Then I need a bottom that covers the tops of the jiggly thighs. Oh Big Sigh..... You say you didn't hit 200lbs until 15 years ago, well I didn't hit 200lbs until 8 years ago and I was pregnant with my last child. I did get back down to 184, and then it creeped up to my all time high last year. I would say genetics play a big part on what our skin does. I'm also very scared of implants and if I had to go that route, I would just live with what I have and be thankful. I'll let you know how the appt. goes. Hugs, Debbie

Hey Debbie, So far, the only loose skin I have is on my upper arms (bat wings). I've been real fortunate in that my skin has shrunk with my weight loss. I think I can thank my maternal grandmother for good skin. Now as for my C cup that started out as a D cup, they were headed south even before the surgery... no hope there. Wishing you the best!
