I don't eat cereal now at all. As a pre-op If I ate cereal, I usually was more hungry later in the morning. Whereas if I did a protein bar, I stayed satisfied for hours. Think it has to do with the carbs in the cereal.
Be careful with cereal that is high fiber ... altho healthy can expand in the tummy and cause problems such as pain/gas/ and worse case put stress on the staple line.

I buy this cereal for my daughter....she loves it. I had a half a cup with milk a few weeks ago and it seemed to swell in my pouch and make me feel bloated (which could have been the milk). It does have 13 grams of protein per serving, but a serving is 1 cup. You might be able to eat it dry without problem. Just a thought.
